“It does not disturb my concentration. In fact, I think it makes it even better.”

Lifestyle maven Martha Stewart is not a cannabis consumer and is no fan of secondhand smoke unless, of course, it’s pal and frequent collaborator Snoop Dogg who’s providing the burnt offerings.

So suggests E! News, which had an exclusive sneak peek of the premiere episode of Stewart’s new iHeartRadio podcast, simply named The Martha Stewart Podcast, set to air June 22.

It was likely a no-brainer to have Snoop appear as a guest on the inaugural episode. The two first met in 2008 when Snoop was a guest on Stewart’s eponymous show.

  3. “I’ve found that CBD supplements are a simple way to enhance my own health and wellness, especially when it comes to managing the stresses of daily life,” Stewart said in a joint statement with Canopy.

Since then, the dynamic duo has made joint appearances on everything from Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Party Challenge to a lighter ad and the InStyle elevator during the 2020 Golden Globes.

Perhaps predictably, Stewart asked Snoop during the soon-to-be aired episode how many joints he smokes daily, a point of interest for many given that the rapper once claimed to puff 81 “blunts” a day.

Snoop responded that it depends on whether he’s shooting television or making music. If the former, he said he estimated he smoked 15 joints a day, a little more than half of the approximately 25 “special” cigarettes consumed during the latter.

Maybe the rapper is slowing down slightly, who uncharacteristically opted not to have a joint in hand while walking the red carpet during a recent awards show. Then again, even though just a portion of 81 blunts a day, the tally remains substantial.

Perhaps more surprising, and certainly less predictable, was Stewart’s response to Snoop’s joint tally.

“That is the only time I get that fabulous secondhand smoke,” she said, per E! News. “It does not disturb my concentration. In fact, I think it makes it even better and it doesn’t make me tired or any of the things that people say marijuana does to you. It’s fantastic. I think it’s great,” she reportedly added.

The talk show-style series will feature Stewart interviewing celebrities, athletes, and other notable guests, according to marthastewart.com. Topics will range from all things personal to professional, it notes.

A trailer of the new show includes sound bites from some pre-recorded episodes, including the one involving her business partner, Snoop Dogg.

Stewart comments how people often ask her about Snoop. The rapper responds in kind.

In the clip, Snoop tells the lifestyle guru: “You don’t think I get approached all the time by people that say, ‘You think you could get me a picture of Martha? You think you could get me an autograph?’”

It seems that Stewart is popular among the Snoop faithful even though, as previously reported, she prefers the cannabis light that is CBD.

Earlier this year, Stewart undertook her cannabis brand’s first-ever category expansion by launching a trio of CBD topical creams.

As part of her partnership with Smith Falls, Ont.-headquartered Canopy Growth Corporation, the Martha Stewart CBD Wellness Topicals include three creams aimed at improving daily wellbeing through better sleep, less stress and fewer aches and pains.

In mid-March, her wellness line was expanded again to include Tropical Medley CBD Wellness Gummies, which come in mango, coconut and pineapple flavours, Canopy Growth announced at the time.

Although Stewart generally eschews cannabis for her own use — she told Chelsea Handler in 2020 that she thought the last joint she smoke was back in 1972 — the belief in CBD both personally and business-wise appears strong.

That was earlier demonstrated when, in 2020, Stewart told the New York Times that she has popped about 20 CBD gummies and felt great.

“Some of my friends do two and feel high, I don’t know why,” she told the publication. “It’s not high like a marijuana high. It’s a CBD high, like, relaxed.’”
