“Cannabis is good to work out on for me,” Tyson said recently, via Yahoo! Life. “I also like taking mushrooms and smoking before fighting. I take psychedelics every day.”

Tyson, who last fought in 2020 in an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr., said that he “lost out there from an athlete’s perspective,” by not smoking during the height of his career, but added that had he consumed cannabis, he “probably wouldn’t have been so aggressive.”

Tyson is now the CEO of Tyson 2.0, a cannabis company that reports its mission “is to produce innovative, high-quality cannabis products known for purity, precision and wide accessibility.”

Earlier this week, the company announced its newest collaboration, a partnership with Verano, a multi-state cannabis operator in the U.S, to launch a new product line with wrestling legend Ric Flair.

Verano operates across 13 U.S. states and has 109 dispensaries under its banner. The Ric Flair Drip cannabis line will offer flower, vapes, edibles and pre-rolls.

“WOOOOO! I’m so thrilled to bring Ric Flair Drip Cannabis products to TYSON 2.0 fans. Now, more people can get into the Ric Flair state of mind — limousine riding, jet-flying, good vibes only,” Flair said in a statement.

“I discovered the benefits of cannabis later in life and was overwhelmed by how much it has helped elevate the mind and heal the body. Alongside TYSON 2.0, I am committed to sharing these amazing benefits with as many consumers as possible,” he added.

The products will launch in 11 U.S. states to begin and will introduce a new edible to the market, “WOOOOO Chews,” coined for Flair’s famous catchphrase, “WOOOOO!”

Verano founder and CEO George Archos said the company is thrilled to partner with Tyson 2.0 and “cannabis advocates like Ric Flair, who are reducing the stigma around cannabis use and raising awareness about its countless benefits.”

For his part, Tyson, who has previously claimed he smokes US$40,000 of weed a month, added he’s “very grateful” about the success of his cannabis ventures, including Mike Bites, ear-shaped edibles with a chunk missing, a nod to Tyson’s infamous fight with Evander Holyfield.

“I’ve been making hundreds of thousands of dollars just from images of biting people’s ears,” Tyson said. “It’s just incredible and I’m very grateful. It could have been bad. It could have turned out really bad.”
