Edmonton, May 28-30, 2023

Due to the numerous requests from LPs. Micro and Craft growers along with some of the largest cannabis retail stores in the nation, Grow Up has decided to bring our award winning show to Alberta. We will be hosting our 7th Conference and Expo at the Edmonton Convention Centre in beautiful downtown Edmonton.

The sleek Los Angeles bungalow, previously featured in an Architectural Digest tour, boasts one of the world’s largest collections of vintage ashtrays and guests will get a pottery lesson from Rogen himself in the in-house studio. The best part? The rate is only US$42 (approx. $55) a night.

On the Airbnb listing, Rogen writes that guests will also be able to enjoy a yet-to-be-released vinyl box set collection, with songs hand-picked by Rogen and creative partner Evan Goldberg, and gorge themselves from a fully stocked fridge.

“The mid-century styling and L.A. views also have a distinctly Houseplant feel. And there’s the fact that I’ll be there to welcome you, which given that I’m the founder, adds to the Houseplant-ness. I AM HOUSEPLANT!!!” Rogen writes.

As for cannabis, guests are welcome to indulge on the property, but not inside the house.

In a tweet, AirBnB notes that “no cannabis-based products will be made available or provided to the guests during the stays.”

Available on Feb. 15, 16 and 17, the proceeds of the partnership with Airbnb will benefit Hilarity for Charity, a non-profit founded by Rogen and wife Lauren Miller that focuses on Alzheimer’s care, prevention and support.

Last year, two Rogen superfans ponied up a combined $80,000 for the charity for the chance to smoke weed with Rogen and get a pottery lesson. Other attendees snagged a private cooking lesson with Momofuku chef David Chang, a skateboarding session with Tony Hawk and a signed guitar and private virtual concert from John Mayer.

In all, the event raised US$860,000 for Alzheimer’s care, prevention and support. Miller Rogen’s mother died from Alzheimer’s in 2020.

As for Houseplant, the brand has taken on a distinct focus on packaging and design and housewares since pulling up stakes in Canada and relocating to California.

The company has worked with Pràctica, an international architecture and design firm, as well as Ma-Ma, a multidisciplinary design studio based in New York City, to come up with Houseplant’s revamped packaging.

During the AD tour, Rogen said the company is focused on creating innovative and interesting packaging for Houseplant products.

“As someone who smokes weed all day, every day and has a home where they would like to reflect their sensibilities and who they are and their tastes, I found myself really struggling to furnish my home in a way that complimented the fact that I smoke weed all day, every day,” Rogen explained.

Rogen has also been a longtime proponent for advancing Alzheimer’s research and even spoke about the cause at a U.S. Senate hearing in 2014. “The situation is so dire that it caused me, a lazy, self-involved, generally self-medicated manchild to start an entire charity organization,” Rogen explained.
