According to Fox 10, the police were informed of the crash at about 1 a.m. on Dec. 9. Responding to the scene, they found the injured man in the vehicle and damage in the form of a large hole in the wall of The Flower Shop dispensary.

Station footage of the crash scene shows the car also received significant damage to the front end on the passenger’s side.

The store didn’t go into details, but tweeted late in the morning on Dec. 9 that it would be closed for the day. Good to its word, The Flower Shop reported today that the pot shop was back up and running.

In the recent crash, the gunshot victim is believed to have escaped serious injuries. That was also the case for the vehicle occupants following the collision.

The damage to the dispensary in Arizona — which legalized adult-use cannabis in 2020 and medicinal marijuana a full decade earlier — was far different than another vehicle crash earlier this fall.

In September, a GFL Environmental truck driver slammed into a building after he was forced to swerve to avoid a vehicle that had reportedly run a red light.

He was also fortunate to escape serious injury in the crash, but the operators of the illegal weed grow-op inside the building were not as lucky.

While investigating and securing the scene, responding emergency personnel found the hidden illicit grow, housing about 260 marijuana plants, spread across three separate rooms.

And in the fall of 2020, a teen driving a stolen vehicle and involved in a high-speed chase with U.K. police inadvertently revealed an illegal grow when he lost control of the car and smashed into an apartment building. Inside, the police found 50 weed plants estimated to be worth £50,000 ($86,089).
