Cody Funderburk

Cody Funderburk (they/them) is a cannabis retail strategist, championing people-first leadership and transformative organizational culture. They hold a Master of Science in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, along with dual business degrees focused on cannabis enterprise and policy. With nearly a decade in retail management, Cody brings multidisciplinary insight to conversations on equity, regulation, and system design in high-compliance environments.

Cody spent over six years working directly with patients as a state licensed Medical Cannabis Consultant in Washington. Their background spans dispensary operations, workforce development, and HR systems. They’ve also served as a homeless shelter advocate, a role that continues to shape their approach to compassionate leadership.

Cody previously served as President of the Medical Cannabis Student Association and as a Social Equity Advisory Committee Representative for the Seattle Office of Economic Development, where they helped shape the city’s cannabis equity program. Their work bridges business strategy and social impact, driven by the belief that cannabis has the power to redefine what ethical leadership means across industries and for everyone.
