Neil Yorio is the Executive Vice President of LED Agricultural Lighting Research for BIOS Lighting, a company which has a focus on developing innovative solutions for the agricultural lighting market. He has participated in numerous agricultural lighting research programs with NASA’s bioregenerative life support programs for over two decades, and is recognized internationally as an expert in electrical lighting systems and controlled environment crop production. He holds both a B.S. and M.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Florida Tech. Additionally, he serves as the technology advisor for Denver Relief Consulting, is a science advisor for licensed Cannabis businesses in Ohio and Illinois, and holds an executive position with the USDA committee on controlled environment technology and use (NCERA-101). Neil is passionate about the energy savings as well as crop yield and quality improvements that LED technology offers this emerging market, and supports the unique integration challenges of LED technology with horticulture. His strong foundation of both plant-related lighting research and LED product design positions him in both understanding the plant lighting requirements and the manufacturing and performance for world-class product development.
