Sasha Przytyk (aka the Joint Doctor) has had a remarkable career, with extensive experience in both the medicinal Cannabis and industrial hemp sector. Sasha was the first private recipient of a Health Canada Industrial Hemp Research license in Québec, back in the late ’90s. He has since become a designated Cannabis grower, licensed through Health Canada’s MMAR and AMCPR programs since 2009. With a passion for home growing and seed breeding, Sasha began to establish “The Joint Doctor” and “High-Bred Seeds” as world-renowned seed brands beginning in the early 2000s. Through the revolutionary and enormously succesful strain “Lowryder,” the Joint Doctor pioneered the concept of autoflowering Cannabis. Lowryder is now recognized as the first 100% autoflowering variety and the Joint Doctor has often been dubbed the “Father of Autoflowering.” Widely adopted by seed companies today, autoflowering strains now represent approximately a large portion of the seed market. Sasha has a frequent guest speaker and delegate at international Cannabis conferences and symposiums. He is also an accomplished publisher in the field, writing numerous articles on hemp and its cultivation, particularly during his stint as the Editor-in-Chief of Heads magazine. He has worked alongside several seed companies and cultivation startups, both in the medicinal and industrial hemp sector. Over the years, he has collaborated on several breeding projects for major seedbanks including Dutch Passion.
