Shawn Dym

Shawn Dym’s career in the cannabis industry spans over a decade, marked by strategic investments, leadership roles, and expertise in corporate restructuring. Entering the industry in 2013, Mr. Dym co-founded a clinic business that served as a customer acquisition vehicle for Licensed Producers (LPs) in the medical cannabis market. This venture was successfully sold to Aurora Cannabis in 2016.

As an early investor in Aphria prior to its initial public offering, Mr. Dym served on its board until late 2019, prior to its merger with Tilray.

Mr. Dym also founded and was a lead investor in Green Acre Capital, a private investment fund dedicated to the cannabis industry. Green Acre Capital has raised and deployed approximately $100 million, investing across a diverse range of verticals in Canada, the U.S., and internationally.

Currently, Mr. Dym serves as Chairman of Decibel Cannabis Company, a leading Canadian cannabis producer with a top 5 market share. Decibel is renowned for its premium brands such as General Admission, Qwest, and Vox, and has recently expanded its international footprint through the acquisition of AgMedica Biosciences, adding an EU-GMP-certified facility to its operations.

Mr. Dym also holds a controlling interest in Farmer Jane, which operates 18 cannabis stores across Saskatchewan and Manitoba, further solidifying their presence in the Canadian retail market. Additionally, Mr. Dym holds investments in the U.S. cannabis sector, with shareholdings in a California distribution business and the Jungle Boys in Florida and performance marketing solution SpringBig which serves approximately 20% of the retail cannabis market in the US.
