Congressional Committee to Hold Hearing on Psychedelics, Medical Cannabis Bills for Veterans

This week a congressional committee will be considering two measures on psychedelics and medical cannabis for military veterans. The House Veterans’ Affairs Health subcommittee will be discussing a measure that would require the veterans’ affairs department to carry out and support studies on the safety and effectiveness of forms of marijuana for post-traumatic stress disorder and chronic pain, among other eligible conditions.
The measure, called the Veterans CARE Act, was sponsored by Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks.
The legislation also stipulates that the research conducted must include extracts and plants, at least three varieties of marijuana with varying concentrations of CBD and THC as well as different methods of marijuana delivery, including inhalation, ingestion and topical application. Additionally, the department of Veterans Affairs would have to present a research plan to Senate and House Veterans’ Affairs committees and make requests to support their research. The department will also be required to come up with yearly reports on its progress once the measure is enacted.
Miller-Meeks has, in the past, discussed the need to support new research to unlock the potential of marijuana and psychedelics for the treatment of conditions that affect veterans, such as PTSD.
The other legislation being discussed will instruct the same department to inform Congress of any psychedelic substances added to its formulary within 180 days of approval by the FDA. The legislation, sponsored by Representative Derrick Van Orden, stipulates that the department’s report should include the secretary’s justification for this decision. Van Orden also cosponsored a bipartisan initiative to allocate funds to the defense department to carry out trials on the therapeutic potential of some psychedelics for military members on active duty.
This initiative was signed into law by President Joseph Biden via an amendment attached to this year’s National Defense Authorization Act.
At the moment, however, no psychedelics have been approved at the federal level as medicine. This may soon change as the Food and Drug Administration recently consented to review a new drug application for MDMA-assisted treatment. It has also designated a compound similar to LSD and psilocybin as breakthrough therapies.
This development comes after veterans’ affairs issued a request for applications earlier this year to carry out studies on the use of psychedelics in treating depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.
In other news, officials from the FDA recently joined researchers at a public meeting on next steps for carrying out studies to develop drugs based on psychedelics.
These hearings are likely to be welcomed by cannabis enterprises such as Aurora Cannabis Inc. (NASDAQ: ACB) (TSX: ACB) since they could result in the enactment of laws easing access to psychedelics and marijuana products by members of the U.S. military, and that would be one more vestige of prohibition chipped away.

Ultrasound Extraction – How to Improve The Extraction Process
Cannabis Extraction methods have been the focal point of innovations since the discovery of . The job of building extraction facilities and maintaining them can be an arduous task, at times not breaking into profitable due to the high costs of operations and investments to maintain. The need for sustainable and environmentally friendly practices are an imperative subject to add to the conversation as well as consistent quality within manufacturers.
With traditional masticating extraction methods such as solvents, heat, and pressure, quality can be inconsistent. In fact, chemically sensitive Phyto-Cannabinoids can be degraded by applying heat and they could lose their chemical value if not treated with care. Combining old knowledge and new technology, it is possible to circumvent these issues and create even more superior products than are found in the present day.
We now investigate the ancient wisdom of vibrations and sounds. How sound affects us, how we can use it to make pictures of babies inside wombs and how it changes our moods. How sound can move water and make patterns in soils. Now, at the cusp of evolutionary cannabis innovations, we learn about cavitation and investigate the science of sonochemistry and how sound interacts with chemicals.
How can we ultimately use Ultrasound to make Cannabis Concentrates?
Botanical extraction has been performed for centuries by different cultures for many reasons from therapeutic applications to religious ceremonies. With the evolution of extraction techniques, Ultrasound Assisted Extraction (UAE) has become a promising and useful innovation capable of pursuing the shortening of extraction time, preservation of thermolabile compounds and reduction of solvents use.
By using soundwaves, different forms of separation methods have become a part of an essential spectrum of environmentally friendly advancements in cannabis and hemp technology.
Ultrasound is well named, with its definition being sound that is above 20 Kilohertz (Kilohertz is 1k Hertz, humans averagely hear at 20k Hertz) – this is of such high Intensity and strength that it not only is not able to be heard by humans, but also can break molecules and cause shock waves equivalent to that of a bomb. On a molecular level it also causes tiny “explosions” which results in cannabis phytoconstituents separation in a short time: too soon to cause shock waves in the cannabis extraction industry.
Ultrasound Cavitation Theory has been applied to create incredibly pure extracts in a shorter time compared to other methods. [1] The “Acoustic Cavitation Phenomena” is when sound creates bubbles of gas vapor which forms, grows, and implodes, causing small shock waves which in turn cause molecular compression and “rarefaction” on the crest of the sonic waves. This in turn causes molecular , liquefaction, and homogenization. Essentially, the sound wave is extracting and mixing the elements at high speeds, creating what is referred to as a “slurry”, which is the state of agitated matter.
Cavitation and extractions through the UAE are created using two different devices.
- An ultrasonic bath is a stainless-steel tank with transducers (ultrasound conductors) inside. Batches of formulas are put into the bath to be stimulated by the frequency.
- The second type of device is a probe. This is a stick type element made of Titanium that can be put into any solution creating Ultrasonic waves.
These methods are already currently popular in the nutraceutical and herbal essences industry as a promising alternative to keep heat sensitive phytochemicals intact and available to us. Being the most cost effective and pure form of extracting elements including anthocyanins and other flavonoids, terpenes, cannabinoids, proteins, sugars among others. [2]
Using sound to disrupt the cell walls increases extraction yields and quality as well as assists in formulations becoming more bioavailable. In comparison to conventional methods, UAE uses just a fraction of energy, time, and solvents. Using these methods also allows reduced costs to build and maintain a processing facility. In combination with supercritical fluid extraction (SFE), UAE appears as the most efficient and safe option to extract active constituents from plants.
Think of the damage done by an earthquake. The vibrations of movement cause massive disaster. Sound creates vibrations that share and spread energy in an atomic energy movement we call “mass transfer”. Microscopic tremors produce amazing effects, such as breaking apart molecules facilitating the phytochemical extraction.
Wrap up on UAE to make cannabis extracts
As Cannabis Concentrates become more and more popular as well as Federal legislation changes to include an entire new demographic, it will be more and more essential for us to integrate the most efficient ways of working with plant matter to match the need that it will produce in society. Studies have found that UAE can cut time in processing by over 75%, therefore cutting costs exponentially, in addition to energy consumption.
Many processes of the cannabis Industry already use vibrations to separate trichomes from biomass, such as Kief tumblers and Separation machines. But for the extraction industry, the good vibrations of the future will be coming from Ultrasound Assisted Extraction.

The Globalist’s SECRET Message!
The Globalist’s SECRET Message!
by James Corbett
corbettreport.com
Psssst. You. Yeah, you! Wanna know a secret?
OK, but you gotta promise not to tell anyone.
Here it is: the inbred eugenicist elitist globalist technocrats that presume to rule over humanity are speaking in subtle code. If you listen extra carefully and you think very hard about it and learn to read between the lines, you just might discover the super secret message that the They/Them/Those of the New World Order agenda have carefully embedded in their public statements.
What, you don’t believe me? OK, then let’s take a look at some examples and I’ll help you decode these cryptic messages.
The Secret Message
Are you ready? Let’s see if you can discern what these would-be controllers of humanity are really saying:
“In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, to contribute something to solving overpopulation.” —Prince Philip, Interview
“The most merciful thing that the large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.” —Margaret Sanger, Woman and the New Race.
“Countless people, from maharajas to millionaires and from pukkha sahibs to pretty ladies, will hate the new world order, be rendered unhappy by the frustration of their passions and ambitions through its advent and will die protesting against it.” —H. G. Wells, The New World Order
“And there’s too many of us, and most of us are living incorrectly. If we had a much smaller population, and over time we could have an ethic where we had only one child, and over maybe 300 or 400 years we could cut back to 250 million – 350 million people.” —Ted Turner, Interview
“In searching for a common enemy against whom we can unite, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like, would fit the bill. In their totality and their interactions these phenomena do constitute a common threat which must be confronted by everyone together. But in designating these dangers as the enemy, we fall into the trap, which we have already warned readers about, namely mistaking symptoms for causes. All these dangers are caused by human intervention in natural processes, and it is only through changed attitudes and behaviour that they can be overcome. The real enemy then is humanity itself.” —Alexander King & Bertrand Schneider, The First Global Revolution: A report by the Council of the Club of Rome
“Professor Pianka said the Earth as we know it will not survive without drastic measures. Then, and without presenting any data to justify this number, he asserted that the only feasible solution to saving the Earth is to reduce the population to 10 percent of the present number. He then showed solutions for reducing the world’s population in the form of a slide depicting the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. War and famine would not do, he explained. Instead, disease offered the most efficient and fastest way to kill the billions that must soon die if the population crisis is to be solved. Pianka then displayed a slide showing rows of human skulls, one of which had red lights flashing from its eye sockets.” —Forrest Mim’s account of a speech by University of Texas evolutionary ecologist Eric Pianka
“An ABC website has been accused of portraying farmers and forestry workers as evil and telling kids how much carbon they can produce before they die.” —”ABC website tells kids when they should die”
“To date, there has been no serious attempt in Western countries to use laws to control excessive population growth, although there exists ample authority under which population growth could be regulated. For example, under the United States Constitution, effective population-control programs could be enacted under the clauses that empower Congress to appropriate funds to provide for the general welfare and to regulate commerce, or under the equal-protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. Such laws constitutionally could be very broad. Indeed, it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society.” —Paul Ehrlich et al., Ecoscience
“To put it bluntly: in earlier times, it was easier to control one million people than to physically kill one million people; today, it is infinitely easier to kill one million people than to control one million people.” —Zbigniew Brzezinski, “Major Foreign Policy Challenges for the Next US President.”
Just Kidding
So, did you catch the subtle message that the crafty cabal carefully coded into their public communiqués?
No? Oh, OK, you got me! There’s no secret message. It’s right there in the open.
For the completely clueless, the points that pop up again and again in the oligarchs’ oratory are:
- Humanity is the enemy.
- We must reduce the population.
- Billions of commoners must die that we and our progeny may live.
That’s it. It’s right there in black and white in their major publications, security memoranda, white papers and speeches. Heck, it’s even engraved in stone . . . or at least it used to be until some enterprising individuals turned that stone into rubble. The point is: there is no secret message. There’s only a completely out-in-the-open one.
And, once you truly understand this message and the ruthless, psychopathic, eugenicist, elitist, anti-human mindset of the kakistocrats who promulgate it, you can finally make sense of world events.
Why is the environmental movement stewarded over by murderous, human-hating wackos who desire to see billions of people die? Because the conservation movement (and all of the mainstream environmental organizations that grew out of that movement) was pioneered by murderous, human-hating eugenicists and funded by the eugenicist royals who wanted to keep their beautiful natural vistas clear of the riff-raff scurrying around beneath them.
Why do nation after nation appear to be in a race to the bottom, implementing policies that will actively hinder the productivity of their own populations and making it more and more difficult for those on the lowest rung of the economic ladder to eke out a subsistence living on the corporate-governmental fascist plantation that we call the developed world? And why is it now increasingly in vogue for governments to offer “medically assisted dying” as their “solution” to the strain and stress of this deliberately degraded world? Because those same governments are stewarded over by elitist eugenicists who hate you and want you dead, of course.
And why do The $cience™ (a registered trademark of the AstroPfizerDernica corporation, as we all know) and academia and the mainstream press and Hollywood and every other pusher of establishment propaganda mindlessly parrot anti-human narratives? Because they are funded and populated by the same elitist, eugenicist, human-hating depopulationists, naturally.
As I say, once you see the “super secret” message in the psychopaths’ public statements for what it is, none of the actions they take are particularly difficult to figure out.
And yet, when you spell out this blindingly obvious reality to the masses, you get massive pushback. It seems they have so internalized the “humans are a cancer on the planet” meme that they’ve been duped into believing that this idea is their own original thought and that they are somehow brave and transgressive for articulating it.
Which leads to the question:
Why, Then, Do People Not See This Message?
There’s a bit of advice that gets passed around online these days: “When someone shows you who they are, believe them.”
Just type that phrase into your search engine of choice and you’ll discover two things: firstly, the quote is commonly attributed to Maya Angelou; and secondly, it is oft-cited relationship advice that is posted in reddit fora and self-help blogs and other places where one is likely to encounter trite, pop culture truisms.
Like so many of those pop psy clichés, it appeals because it’s seemingly simple but actually profound. As Maya Angelou explains, people will sometimes tell us that they’re mean or they’re crazy. Our first response in such cases is often one of reassurance: “Oh, you’re not crazy,” or “Oh, I don’t think you’re unkind!” Then, when the person turns out to actually be nasty or deranged, they can rightly protest that we have no right to be angry at them; after all, they told us what they are.
In a similar way, the globalists are not hiding their intentions behind some secret cypher. They’re telling us openly that we are their enemy. That they want us to eat bugs. That they want us herded into 15-minute cities, where they plan to monitor, track and control us. And that their end goal is to get rid of billions of us.
Yet here, too, the average, non-psychopathic person’s response to such admissions is one of reassurance. “That’s not what they’re really saying. They’re just demonstrating that there’s a problem. They’re not talking about killing us. And even if they were, it’s because they care for us!”
When the globalists proceed to do the very things they announced they were going to do, we can hardly act surprised, can we? After all, they did warn us!
Paraphrasing Angelou, then, perhaps we can come up with some apt “relationship advice” for those stuck in a Stockholm Syndrome bond with their elitist captors:
When genocidal, anti-human psychopaths tell you who they are, believe them!
So, What is Our Message?
You didn’t think I would leave things there, did you? Of course not. The real point of parsing the globalists’ (not-so-) secret message is that doing so helps us to clarify our own position.
When you boil it down, it’s actually pretty basic. The globalists hate life and want to end it. To counteract them, we must cherish life and seek to preserve it.
Allow me to quote myself at length from my 2016 editorial on “The Greatest Blessing“:
We are programmed to look out for danger and respond to threats. It’s instinctual, and well it should be. We live in a dangerous world and our family line wouldn’t have made it this far if there weren’t an eternal vigilance against potential perils.
But always focusing on the threats and dangers can send us off the deep end. Especially when dealing in the doom and gloom that pervades so much of the alternative media, it can be all too easy to dwell on the negative and forget why it is we’re fighting for truth and justice in the first place. In fact, it can become difficult to remember that we’re fighting for anything at all and just focus on fighting against. Against our enemies. Against the politicians and banksters and globalists and fraudsters and psychopaths. But, just like the returning war vet who can’t stop fighting the war in his head or the homicide detective who assumes everyone is a murder victim in waiting (or a murderer in waiting), this perspective starts to ruin our appreciation of the world until we forget why it is we even cared in the first place.
Sadly, this isn’t some theoretical problem. I get dozens of emails a week from people who are frightened and angry and at their wits’ end, asking me how I manage to keep doing this work given all the evil that we are facing. The answer is so simple that I’m not sure it can be taught, only perceived. In short, the answer is that I love my life. I love my family and my friends and watching clouds roll by on a lazy summer afternoon and reading a good book and hearing the sound of my son’s laughter and, yes, hearing my daughter’s cry. The cry of a healthy, growing newborn. This is why I care. I care because life is worth living, and I see that deep down most people are the same; they just want to enjoy their families and their friends and their time on this planet, too. I’m not fighting against the powers that shouldn’t be. I’m fighting for all of those things in the world that are worth saving.
That’s my not-so-secret message. What’s yours?

4 Reasons to Stop Watching News (and Social Media)
4 Reasons to Stop Watching News
(and Social Media)
Ever since I studied the historical context of media with James Corbett, I’ve drastically reduced my consumption of news and social media. In fact, it’s safe to say that I live “under a rock,” as not only don’t I have a personal social media account but also abstain from watching any news broadcast – especially when you understand its origin and history.
The only reason I know what occurs – significant events at least – in the world is through the network I’ve developed. As a very social individual, I have an extensive network via various apps like Telegram and GroupMe.
Lately, this week, everyone has been discussing the latest school shooting. While we go through the usual discussion of gun control, I have a different outlook, which may be because I’ve removed myself from societal noise as much as possible. When I hear of these mass shootings, my first thought is, “is this a false flag?”
Now in the event of the controlled opp Alex Jones and the Sandy Hook Trial, this seems insensitive to say. And to be clear, any murder is wrong and should be condemned. However, I would argue that individuals who aren’t familiar with the technique of false flags and the frequency they occur might live in a world of naivete. With the increased prevalence of deep fakes, authorized propaganda use by governments, and crisis actors, this is a very legitimate question to ask.
The second thought that comes to mind is, did officials entice these shooters? This idea falls under the false flag notion, but there are reports where family members have mentioned that their loved ones have been coerced to commit tragic crimes. Here’s one example here.
So, whenever these major crisis events happen, I take a step back to avoid falling into the polarization trap that occurs, which is one reason I don’t watch the news. However, there are a plethora of reasons why no one should watch the news – at least not from mainstream media sources.
In the following article, I break down four reasons why we should not – and I loop this together with social media use as well. I vehemently believe that no adult over the age of 20 should utilize social media to the extent that we as a culture currently do because it wastes productive time and establishes mediocrity. It also provides the user with an endless amount of useless information, which I describe here and here.
But without any further ado, here are four reasons why, as a culture, we need to stop watching the news.
The world has become increasingly dependent on news and social media for information, and I argue that consuming content from these sources may have long-term detrimental effects. Recently, I had the opportunity to watch a Ted Talk discussing four reasons why we should stop consuming mainstream news.
Despite being focused on traditional sources of “news” (i.e., 5pm News Reports as this video was four years ago), its powerful message can be applied to social media outlets as well — many people now get their news from quick snippets and soundbites featured across various platforms. These clips have become the primary source for millions of individuals seeking current event updates.
Social media and news outlets serve up a steady stream of data that is like candy for our brains but offers little nutritional value. We may believe we are more informed as a result of these sources; however, all they truly provide us with are glimpses into fleeting events taking place around the world.
The alarming issue here is that we’re being tricked with a false sense of understanding, as pointed out by Ted Talk Speaker Rolf Dobelli. We deceive ourselves into believing we know what’s happening in the world when all it does is keep us from perceiving the actual reality. To make matters worse, the more news and social media content consumed only furthers our blindness to truth.
Here are the four reasons why it’s essential to take a step back from the news and social media outlets to protect our well-being:
- Watching the news can give you an incorrect view of the world and how dangerous it is, oftentimes overestimating the risks from relatively rare events.
- News can be completely irrelevant to your own life and focus on events that have little bearing on your day-to-day existence.
- Prolonged news consumption has been shown to increase stress levels, lead to feelings of depression, and erode mental health over time.
- Furthermore, watching too much news does not give you any competitive advantage in terms of knowledge or insight compared to those who do not watch the news (it actually might hurt). It also takes up valuable time that could be used for more productive activities.
Despite all the distractions and harmful noise from news sources and social media, there’s still hope! By reverting back to traditional methods we’ll cover in this article, you can learn how to gain a true advantage over your peers. Reduce the noise coming from these outlets so that you may reap the benefits of knowledge and improved success.
To begin, let’s delve deeper into these four points and then discuss how to gain a true edge in the market.
“The brain interprets the sensational [news story or social media feed] as being much more frequent than it actually occurs, and it disregards the silent risks that are not fit for the headlines. The result is that you constantly walk around with the wrong risk map in your head.”
Over and over again, we’ve seen the media sensationalize stories without offering enough context or perspective. For instance, when it came to the pandemic, death tolls were reported constantly even though 95% of those infected survived – leading people to feel distressed for no real reason. We often see this same kind of ‘crisis’ attitude around climate change as well as a disproportionate amount of attention given to minority groups like transgender individuals.
The same sentiment can be extended to the distressing images frequently presented as news. From police shooting innocent citizens to people being brutally attacked and murdered in broad daylight – these graphic displays of violence have become far too common among journalism outlets.
Yet, this is what is supposedly informing us. These events, which have rare occurrence and are being broadcasted daily, gives us the wrong risk map in our heads. Instead of focusing on true issues, such as inflation prices and solutions, the decreasing purchasing power of the dollar, or the incoming threat of CBDCs, which are all real risks that affect us all, we are left in a propagandized state, afraid to leave our homes, due to small risks possibly affecting us outside of the safety of our homes.
This reason alone is why we should cease consuming information from news and social media outlets; however, this is just one reason; we have three more to go.
“An average person consumes between 10,000 and 20,000 new stories a year. Let me ask you, from the thousands of new stories you have seen this year, tell me one, just one, that has allowed you to make better decisions for your private life or business life, compared to not knowing it.”
As I crafted this article, I sought insight from my friends about the four points; however, when discussing this particular point in question, some disputes occurred. Some thought the weather and traffic were other possible examples that could be mentioned, while others suggested student loan forgiveness or PPP loans as appropriate topics for news coverage.
Ultimately, do you need the news or social media to give you insight into those areas? That is up to the reader to decide. In my opinion, if it was important that we be informed about what’s happening in a particular area, then we would already know without relying on news sources.
Let’s use an illustration to further explain this. If you are a business proprietor, I am confident that the news and social media are not the places where you would learn of government-funded PPP loans. Your accountant, tax services provider, or even the government itself will likely contact you regarding this particular update.
The takeaway here is that you don’t need to rely on the news or social media when it comes to matters directly impacting your life. For instance, if it’s raining outside- well, that’s just an ordinary part of existence and not especially significant. On the other hand, if you have a critical meeting coming up, then checking traffic won’t always be considered “news,” as once completed, there is no longer any need to continually consume more information regarding the route.
Our attention and our time are limited, so if we choose to obsess over potential issues or consume ourselves with the fabricated lives of celebrities online, precious moments in our own lives will slip away.
Another convincing reason to switch off the news is its direct effect on our health.
“News is toxic to your health. News stories constantly triggers the limbic system. Panicky stories release glucocorticoids, stress hormones that put your body in a state of chronic tension and alert. The result, your body stops growing, doesn’t repair itself, and become susceptible to infection. You will be physically healthier if you stay away from the perpetual drama of the news.”
This point links to the preceding reason and highlights both the physical and detrimental effects of regular news and social media consumption. As we consistently engage with these narratives and visuals, our bodies trigger a fight or flight response – and entering into this state of panic-inducing alertness day after day results in severe damage to our health.
Numerous studies have cautioned against the detrimental consequences of social media, and this article delves into the deleterious pictures displayed in news programs. If you’d like to gain a deeper understanding of this issue, look no further than my article “Occularcentric Society.” From a spiritual standpoint, witnessing our world through screens can take us away from reality as we know it—away from what is happening around us while transporting ourselves to an artificial universe instead. This pattern of behavior has profound implications that require more attention.
Astonishingly, humans are now spending more time in virtual worlds than ever before, and it’s hardly surprising that our physical well-being is adversely affected due to prolonged exposure.
Despite the three remarkable explanations for why news and social media are detrimental, there are still people who insist on their advantages. One well-known argument is that being informed helps us make wiser decisions. Let’s now expose this myth with our fourth point as well!
“News wastes time. If you consume news for 15 minutes each morning and 15 minutes in the afternoon and watch news on television for 30 minutes before bed, you waste productive hours totaling a work day a week. For what? If news gave you a competitive advantage, journalists would be the world’s richest people. They are not; quite to the contrary.”
As a kid, I saw images of successful people watching the news first thing in the morning. Squawk Box, CNN, and Morning Joe were their go-to channels for keeping up to date with what was happening in the world. I remember setting alerts on my devices so that if something “breaking” occurred, then I’d know about it immediately, too – all because I believed that by staying informed just like those influential individuals seen in movies and media outlets depicted, eventually, success would be mine as well.
As I’ve highlighted in this article, I was essentially indulging myself with knowledge of events that were highly unlikely to occur. Moreover, none of these bits had any significance to my life whatsoever. To top that off, the negative news circulating across screens only increased my anxiety and deteriorated my mental well-being – all while spending 8 hours every week doing so!
Instead of offering a true competitive edge, watching the news–which later became replaced by social media–had an inversely negative impact. Rather than utilizing this time to stay informed and connected, I would have been better served investing in myself – through studying new skill sets, researching trends within my industry, and more. It became clear that following the news or scrolling social media gives us all an imaginary impression of success without actually propelling us closer to our goals.
How, then, can we develop a true competitive advantage?
“To have a real competitive advantage, you better stay out from the new stream. So what should you do? Go cold turkey; make news inaccessible. Read long solid magazine articles that give your perspective. Read books that explain the world’s complexities. Try reading a book a week, better two or three. History, school, biology, psychology. Have fun reading.”
At Unorthodoxy, this quote is at the heart of our mission. As Dobelli proclaims, to obtain a true competitive edge, we must delve into and analyze the depths – in other words, go long. Brief exhibitions of what’s going on superficially are futile; however, those who take their time to comprehend the intricacies and complexities of life are in a prime position to solve them hence garnering rewards – both mentally and financially – for the generous gifts they bless others with.
Our mission lies in going long and uncovering the truth. We explore complex topics like history, psychology, and many more that offer an unconventional outlook on the world. This isn’t just for entertainment, but with an understanding of how things became as they are today, we can find true solutions to make our earth a better place – while being financially rewarded along the journey! Financial success is a critical component of living a fulfilling life, which is why this factor is necessary to consider. I write more about this here.
Other substacks follow this same philosophy: providing in-depth, insightful content to change the world for the better. Examples include

420 with CNW — New Study Suggests Cannabis Handouts Could Curb Drug Overdose Fatalities

A new study published in the “Journal of Harm Reduction” proposes that distributing free marijuana through harm-reduction groups could significantly decrease drug overdose fatalities and enhance the well-being of users. The study, focusing on a cannabis donation initiative in rural Michigan, marks the pioneering documentation of the harm-reduction approach in the United States, suggesting its potential sustainability contingent upon state regulations.
While acknowledging existing obstacles in marijuana distribution and regulation policies, study authors emphasize the perceived advantages recognized by harm-reduction practitioners. Those advantages include reduced premature mortality, enhanced life quality, pain alleviation, better recovery prospects and heightened safety for both communities and clients.
Spanning from September 2021 to May 2023, the observation involved 10 marijuana-experienced harm-reduction participants who received weekly marijuana allocations through deliveries or pickups. The suitability of the allocations was assessed by clinical staff based on interest and need.
Upon reporting their interactions with participants, staff highlighted numerous observed benefits. For instance, a patient (aged 50 years of age or older), having undergone complex spinal fusion surgery, previously struggled with alcohol abstinence but achieved complete sobriety during recovery, expressing gratitude for the pain relief provided by marijuana products. Similarly, a pregnant participant in her 20s, initially homeless and dependent on opioids and methamphetamine, reduced the frequency of substance use with the aid of donated marijuana products after actively seeking assistance from harm-reduction agencies to access treatment for opioid use disorder during pregnancy.
Examining data from a contributing marijuana company, the study unveiled insights into product varieties and donation scales. Notably, while flower products dominated medical and recreational sales, donations primarily comprised topical, oil and edible products. Furthermore, donation costs represented a mere 1% of overall gross sales, falling considerably below the anticipated annual donation volume.
The authors stress the necessity for further research to fully understand the effects on individuals, the implications for public health, the legal requirements and the best practices for marijuana donation. In light of the persistent overdose mortality linked to illicit fentanyl and synthetic contaminants, the report advocates for harm-reduction practitioners to uphold client autonomy and mutual aid, including the provision of safe psychoactive products to drug users.
While refraining from drawing definitive conclusions regarding the overarching efficacy of harm-reduction endeavors, the analysis relies on interviews with the program administrators, outlining the exploratory nature of the study and its focus on depicting the organic evolution of marijuana donation within a regulated state framework. Overall, the findings underscore the viability of such initiatives, notably the minimal contribution of commercial cannabis companies’ donations to their overall product inventory, affirming the potential scalability and sustainability of marijuana donation programs within harm-reduction frameworks.
Further studies may be needed to ascertain the best ways in which these donations can help those at risk of drug overdose death. As this concept becomes better understood, a clearer picture is likely to emerge of how cannabis legalization can be a major force for good in society well beyond allowing an ecosystem of ancillary businesses, such as Innovative Industrial Properties Inc. (NYSE: IIPR), to thrive around the mainstream marijuana industry.

Curaleaf to acquire Northern Green Canada to bolster European flower supply
(CNW) New York — Curaleaf Holdings, Inc., a leading international provider of consumer cannabis products, today announced it has signed a deal to acquire Northern Green Canada, a vertically integrated Canadian licensed cannabis producer focused primarily on expanding in the international market through its EU-GMP certification. NGC also partners with Canadian GACP cultivators to produce and distribute finished cannabis products to both the domestic and global markets.
NGC is one of the few Canadian cultivators with EU-GMP certification. As such, NGC has consistently supplied high THC, non-irradiated flower to the German market, which is expected to see exponential growth following the recent removal of cannabis from the narcotics list. NGC is also increasingly supplying Australia and New Zealand, the world’s fastest-growing cannabis markets.
Given NGC’s longstanding role as a key supplier to Curaleaf’s Four20 brand, this acquisition marks a significant milestone in Curaleaf’s expansion strategy, particularly in Europe. By integrating NGC, Curaleaf can significantly increase its European margins while extending its global footprint across three continents: North America, Europe, and Australasia (Australia/New Zealand). The deal provides Curaleaf International with secure and consistent high quality indoor EU-GMP flower supply, ensuring the leading position in the growing German market during a critical juncture, while also allowing the Company to maintain its leadership position in the U.K. and expand its first-mover advantage into Poland. Further, NGC’s facility has both ample space and regulatory certification available for modular build-out of additional grow rooms, allowing for increased capacity.
Boris Jordan, executive chairman of Curaleaf, stated, “We expect the NGC acquisition to be a highly accretive deal that marks Curaleaf’s first step into the Australasian markets, creating a true global cannabis company with global brands. It allows Curaleaf to safeguard our position in Europe, enhancing our supply chain while increasing our margins. The opportunity in Germany alone cannot be understated, and we continue to prepare strategically for that moment and beyond. We are committed to delivering the highest quality flower in every market we operate, and we are thrilled to welcome the NGC team to the Curaleaf International family.”

Juan Martinez, Head of Curaleaf International, added, “The NGC deal complements our Portuguese cultivation and processing assets, which we continue to expand and develop. With the addition of NGC’s indoor non-irradiated flower, coupled with existing production from Portugal that can be quintupled as demand dictates, Curaleaf will have ample high quality GMP supply and future expansion capacity to meet growing market needs. We anticipate other EU countries to follow Germany’s lead in advancing their medical cannabis programs to increase patient access.”
Lisa McCormack, president and CEO of Northern Green Canada, said, “The NGC team is excited to become a part of the Curaleaf family. As their longstanding commercial partner, we believe we can help accelerate Curaleaf’s growth in global markets. We are committed to providing high quality GMP products under the umbrella of the largest global cannabis company in the world.”
The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2024, pending all regulatory approvals.

Study Shows Psilocybin Reduces Brain’s Reaction to Angry Faces
New research has discovered that psilocybin decreases the amygdala region’s response to seeing images of angry faces. The amygdala is responsible for processing emotions, particularly those linked to anxiety and fear. This region in the brain also links emotions to other things such as senses, memories and learning. This region’s activity affects social interactions as well as behaviors, including avoidance and aggression.
Psilocybin is a compound that naturally occurs in some mushroom species known as magic mushrooms. The compound’s psychoactive properties can produce altered states of consciousness, which may include changes in an individual’s mood, perception and thought patterns.
For centuries now, the compound has been used in various religious and cultural practices for its therapeutic benefits, which help treat mental conditions such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. For this recent study, investigators led by University of Copenhagen’s Sophia Armand carried out experimental neuroimaging research to find out if different doses of psilocybin would affect how the amygdala responded to emotionally expressive faces.
The researchers recruited 28 healthy individuals from a group of volunteers who had expressed interest in the psychedelic study. To start, each participant completed face tasks while undergoing functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). The tasks involved the identification of emotions on faces displaying anger, fear, neutrality or surprise in a random order. In addition, each participant had their body mass index, intelligence, sleep quality, mood and stress levels evaluated.
Once this was completed, every participant underwent a pair of dosing sessions, which were held 21 days apart. During the first session, each individual received a dose of psilocybin, then underwent another fMRI and emotional faces task. This allowed the investigators to compare activity in the brain while participants were under the psychedelic’s influence.
During the second session, each individual received a dose of ketanserin, which is commonly used in the treatment of hypertension.
The investigators discovered that the amydala’s response to angry faces decreased significantly when participants were under psilocybin’s influence. Reactions to neural and fearful faces also decreased, but not enough to be statistically significant.
In their report, the investigators noted that the amydala’s reaction to fearful faces in participants who admitted to feeling stronger effects of psilocybin was further reduced. This research elucidates psilocybin’s effects on how the amygdala responds to emotional faces. However, more research conducted at a larger scale is needed.
The researchers reported their findings in “Neuroscience Applied.” Other researchers involved include Dea S. Stenbaek, Kristian Larsen, Katrin H. Preller, Brice Ozenne, Martin K. Madsen, Patrick M. Fisher and Gitte M. Knudsen.
Many startups, such as Seelos Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: SEEL), are looking to leverage the ability of psychedelics such as magic mushrooms to exert medicinal effects in people with various mental-health issues. The gains made in research thus far suggest that approved psychedelic medicines could soon be available to the patients who need them.
