FAAFO Cannabis says micro is the way to go

Paul Pruessmann and Vincent Lanci recently launched FAAFO Cannabis, a micro cultivator located in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, after purchasing the facility from another grower looking to leave the market.

With an increasing number of cannabis companies throwing in the towel, many have seen doom and gloom on the horizon, but Paul Pruessmann and Vincent Lanci see opportunity.

After spending several years on the sidelines waiting for some of the initial rush to licensing to fade, Pruessmann said he and his business partner Lanci finally saw an opportunity to enter the market.

“We’ve had this strategy for about five years now,” explains Pruessmann. “When legalization first kicked in, we took a step back and assessed the market and then waited until we could find a facility like this, and for much less than if we had built it ourselves.”

Both partners bring extensive experience to their endeavour, having previously worked at a much larger cannabis facility in BC. Along with Pruessmann’s 35 years of experience growing, Lanci is an aircraft engineer, a Red Seal Carpenter, and has extensive experience in facilities maintenance.

Utilizing that experience is one of the ways they hope to succeed where others struggled, explains Lanci, with his emphasis on operating the facility and Pruessmann’s intimate knowledge of the plant itself.
“We’re always looking for ways to complement each other. I’m always looking for efficiencies, and Paul is constantly refining his craft with the plants. We aren’t scared to get the job done, whatever it is. When there’s something that we need to do, we just figure it out and do it.”

After working at a large publicly-traded cannabis company, both say they saw a lot of excess and inefficiency in the industry they knew they could cut through, especially as a small micro cultivation facility with just a few hundred square meters of grow space.

And foremost, adds Pruessmann, is delivering a quality product that consumers want.

“This will distinguish us from most other producers out there. On top of cannabis literally being a part of my life daily for over 35 years—starting as a recreational user, leading to using it for medical treatment—my standards for quality are unmatched. No one will ever be harder on my products than I will. But I will always strive for better. That’s the passion that comes along with a true love of cannabis and being a people pleaser.”

Pruessmann also says he’s seeing more consumers returning to the legal market or even trying it for the first time because more quality, small-scale and micro growers are starting to hit shelves. It’s something he hopes to add to soon, when their first cultivar, supplied by Life Cycle Botanics, reaches shelves in BC in early January 2023.

“Once you have consistent quality, you can begin to repair the trust that was broken by first-to-market producers, greedy corporations, and the fugazi ‘Master Growers’. There’s a huge gap in the premium quality category, which we plan to help fill.”

This profile is brought to you by Life Cycle Botanics, the preferred cannabis nursery supplier for FAAFO Cannabis.

Fractional Distillation Apparatus

Fractional Distillation Apparatus

Distillation technique dates back to ca. 3500 B.C. [1] The development of methods of separating mixtures into their components started alongside alchemy in the 9th century A.D. in the Middle East. This pseudoscience had as its goal the production of elixirs. At the base of these drinks there were extracts that could also undergo separation processes. [2]

From that moment on, simple and fractionaldistillation was used and perfected up to the present day. Research applications include separation and purification of organic compounds. Moreover distillation techniques are widely used in industrial crude oil refineries, distilleries for the separation of alcohols from fermented liquids, for water purification or desalination, and also for other applications.

Distillation

Distillation is an ancient unit operation. Early applications used crude extract vaporization and condensation equipment, often for concentrating the alcoholic content of beverages. [3]

This process appears to have been utilized by the earliest experimentalists: Aristotle (384–322 B.C.) mentioned that pure water is made by the evaporation of seawater, Pliny the Elder (23–79 AD) described a primitive method of condensation in which the oil obtained by heating rosin is collected on wool placed in the upper part of an apparatus known as a still. [4]

Two subsequent state transitions are the basis of distillation: evaporation/boiling and condensation. Every solid or liquid substance has a characteristic vapor tension or pressure that increases as the temperature increases. When the vapor pressure equals the external atmospheric pressure, the liquid begins to boil.

The separation of a mixture by distillation occurs because the vapor has a different composition from that of the liquid from which it distills and is richer in the most volatile component, i.e., the one which has the lowest boiling temperature. This vapor can be cooled and separated from the initial mixture by condensation. [5]

Distillation set-up

This practice can be performed by using:

  • Hot-plate stirrer or Heater (Bunsen burner or hot water bath)
  • Still pot
  • Thermometer

Hot-plate stirrer

The magnetic stirrer is used to simultaneously mix and heat liquid solutions.

Heater

The famous laboratory gas burner associated with the name of the German chemist, Robert Wilhelm Bunsen (1811–1899), was first described in detail in 1857. An examination of the paper by Bunsen shows that his primary reason in using the new burner was to obtain a virtually colorless, soot-free flame of constant size that could be used to establish photometric standards in inorganic chemistry essays. The burner also provided a hotter, more concentrated flame for conventional laboratory use. By the end of the 1860s, laboratory gas burners had largely displaced the older charcoal furnaces that had dominated chemistry for most of its recorded history. [6]The hot water bath is preferred for heating flammable chemicals to prevent ignition.

A thermal coat can be used to provide a uniform heating.

Still pot

Round bottom flask or vessel, made of Pyrex glass. Once the solution is heated, the mixture begins to boil, to proceed with the distillation. The volume of the flasks depends on the volume of the mixtures (from 100 ml up to 500 ml or even more).

Fractionating column

The small scale apparatus composing the fractional distillation equipment includes a column of laboratory glassware. It is placed between the flask and the condenser. The thermometer is placed at the top of the column to measure the evaporation temperature of the fraction being collected. [7]

In contrast to what happens in simple distillation, the vapor continues repeating several times the evaporation/condensation/evaporation process to improve the separation efficiency. The rectification columns are often filled with glass beads or may present particular designs (like Vigreux column) to increase the surface area available for condensing the vapor. [5]

Increasingly lower temperatures are established along the column as one moves away from the flask where the initial mixture boils. Thanks to these temperature steps, called theoretical plates, it is possible to achieve complete separation of the initial components.

The number of theoretical plates necessary for a complete separation of the liquids depends on the difference between the boiling temperaturesthe greater the difference, the smaller the number of plates and therefore the shorter the rectification column can be. [5]

Thermometer

It is used to control the vapor temperature of the distilled fraction. It is used to control the vapor temperature of the distilled fraction. These data are discriminating for a primary classification of the identity of the extracted compounds. The thermometer can be put at the top of the flask in the simple distillation, or on the top of the column in the fractional distillation.

Condenser

This part is simply responsible for the condensation of the distilled fraction that is collected.

It is a glass tube presenting a freshwater input, close to the vapor source, and a warmer water output, close to the collector. [5]

In simple distillation it is linked to the still pot and provides the separation granting a thermal gradient. In fractional distillation it is used to condensate the vapor of the high volatile compounds because the fractionating column itself provides the separation.

Today’s design presents a variety of condensers, more intricate means more cost. But for different separation conditions we can find bubble or even spiral structures.

Collector

Laboratory flasks or beakers, used to collect different portions or fractions of the mixture. From these it will be possible to analyze the content of the initial mixture. [5]

Applications

Simple distillation is performed for thermally stableliquids with boiling temperatures between 35 and 105°C and which have high differences between boiling temperatures.

It is a general term for the vast majority of distillation techniques used in business and laboratory research. [8] The most popular applications are in the Food and Beverage industry or Extractive industry with purification goals.

Fractional distillation is performed for mixtures of volatile and miscible liquids characterized by relatively close boiling temperatures (difference around 25°C) or for complex mixtures of liquids. Industrial applications in oil refining, in alcoholperfume and pharmaceuticalmanufacturing, but also can provide airseparation.

We Are All Controlled by the most Virulent Lost Souls

in A World of Lost Souls

By MofWooFoo

This is opinion

We live in a world of lost souls, the worst are controlling humanity for centuries. There are also many beautiful people and it is all a matter of degree.

They keep us divided and lost by propagandizing us with lies and false information. Who am I, who are you? A fundamental question. My simple answer: We are all a part of the magical but real tree of life. Everything that has the animating spirit of life, that is, all living creatures share this. Every branch is a different species. The human species is our branch and we all have the human form and human kind of consciousness.

On this tree, every flower is different (our individuality) and many people believe that who they are is that flower, we are more than just a flower on a tree.

We are all a part of the human branch and we are connected to all life through the trunk. Until humanity can see ourselves connected in this way, we will continue to fight amongst ourselves, which can be seen as a form of insanity.

Until humanity can see how we are truly one human family and share the same spirit of life with all forms of life, it is hard to imagine how we can ever create a paradise for everyone.

The people at the top are the cruelest, coldest, and least humane of all and continually perpetrate crimes and atrocities on the rest of humanity for centuries with impunity. We can love their divine animating spirit, and hate their actions. That is, we can have unconditional love for all.

We need to drop all the programs, beliefs, and manipulation, and evolve (takes time, is not always easy). Life is a monumental gift that should be enjoyed rather than endured. But the controllers since Thomas Malthus (1700’s), think that the growth of humanity must be stopped by any means (eugenicist/nazi ideology). But if it is necessary, we could find a humane way to go about this.

Common sense tells us that there can never be an “Arbiter of Truth”, especially the government.

A sensible and mature way to deal with covid 19, would have been mature and civil conversations from all sides. Instead, we were manipulated to believe that those who preferred to not be injected were “bad”. And all conversation was blocked. Those who got vaxxed, thought that it was the noble and responsible thing to do and did it to prevent the spread. In that sense it was noble of them.

Those who preferred to maintain their physical sovereignty believed that was equally or more noble. The latter could not bring themselves to trust the government, mainstream media, Fauci, Gates, the institutions, Big Pharm, the Science!, etc. Big money can buy, intimidate, or hire assassins, which they do and did.

Now these controllers have all the resources and technology they need to inescapably capture humanity a la “1984” modernized and are very close to achieving this. Left and Right have little value now. It’s all about freedom vs. totalitarianism. Voting just perpetuates the illusion of freedom and democracy, as well as the criminal system.

These are opinions that you can either refute, add to, or agree. But please don’t simply ignore. And if you do agree, please use your influence to spread to influencers and everyone to make this our focus.

Love and respect to all.

How to Escape Mediocrity and Mental Illness

– The Road Less Traveled

[embedded content]

The following is a transcript of this video.

“Since ultimately people heal themselves with or without the tool of psychotherapy, why is it that so few do and so many do not? Since the path of spiritual growth, albeit difficult, is open to all, why do so few choose to travel it? It was to this question that Christ was addressing himself when he said, “Many are called, but few are chosen.””

M. Scott Peck, The Road Less Traveled

No matter the current state of our life or the problems we face, we all have the capacity for self-transformation, the ability to overcome our problems, and to move towards the ideal of peak psychological health. Yet most of us do not exercise this capacity; rather, we leave our personal problems unsolved and stay stuck in a mediocrity that situates us far below our potential and places us at risk of mental illness. Why is this limiting life-path the norm? In this video, drawing from the insights of the psychiatrist M. Scott Peck, we examine this question and explore how we can be one of the few who proceeds upon the path of personal growth – which Peck called “the road less traveled”.

“Life is difficult. This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths….Most do not fully see this truth that life is difficult. Instead they moan more or less incessantly, noisily or subtly, about the enormity of their problems, their burdens, and their difficulties as if life were generally easy, as if life should be easy…Life is a series of problems. Do we want to moan about them or solve them?”

M. Scott Peck, The Road Less Traveled

One of the primary marks of wisdom is the capacity to accept that life is difficult, problems inevitable, and suffering inescapable. A second mark of wisdom is the understanding that if we confront our problems and work to solve them, we will suffer, but it will be the type of suffering that is meaningful and promotive of personal growth. Many of us do not possess these marks of wisdom. Rather, we cling to the illusory hope that if only we can make enough money, meet the right person, or get the right job, then life will be easy. Many of us also try to evade our problems via a variety of avoidance tactics. We blame our problems on other people or social circumstances. We procrastinate, hoping our problems will disappear. We engage in self-deception and deny that we have problems, or we turn to alcohol, drugs, or compulsive technology use to escape awareness of our problems and to numb the suffering that accompanies them. And as Peck observed:

“Some of us will go to quite extraordinary lengths to avoid our problems and the suffering they cause, proceeding far afield from all that is clearly good and sensible in order to try to find an easy way out, building the most elaborate fantasies in which to live, sometimes to the total exclusion of reality…We attempt to skirt around problems rather than meet them head on. We attempt to get out of them rather than suffer through them.”

M. Scott Peck, The Road Less Traveled

This attempt to avoid our problems and find an easy way out of suffering is doomed to fail. Not only does it lead us into fantasies and delusions, but it exacerbates our problems and makes us susceptible to a meaningless and neurotic type of suffering that is central to many forms of mental illness. Or as M. Scott Peck explained:

“This tendency to avoid problems and the emotional suffering inherent in them is the primary basis of all human mental illness…In the succinctly elegant words of Carl Jung, “Neurosis is always a substitute for legitimate suffering.” But the substitute itself ultimately becomes more painful than the legitimate suffering it was designed to avoid. The neurosis itself becomes the biggest problem. True to form, many will then attempt to avoid this pain and this problem in turn, building layer upon layer of neurosis…when we avoid the legitimate suffering that results from dealing with problems, we also avoid the growth that problems demand from us. It is for this reason that in chronic mental illness we stop growing, we become stuck.”

M. Scott Peck, The Road Less Traveled

There is only one way out of the neurotic suffering of mental illness, and this is to endure the legitimate suffering that is part and parcel of accepting our problems and then actively working to solve them. To heighten our capacity to endure suffering, it is beneficial to remember that suffering is not our enemy, but the greatest of teachers. “Those things that hurt, instruct.”, as Benjamin Franklin put it. Or as the ancient Greek tragedian Aeschylus observed 2500 years ago: The gods have ordained a solemn decree that from suffering alone comes wisdom.” When we stop fleeing from and numbing ourselves to our suffering, then suffering shows us where we are going wrong in life and opens our eyes to the full extent of our problems and the necessity of change. This is why M. Scott Peck labeled depression as a healthy symptom which only becomes pathological when we try to suppress it and evade the life changes that its presence is calling for. Or as Peck explained:

“…depressive symptoms are a sign to the suffering individual that all is not right with him or her and major adjustments need to be made…depression is a normal and basically healthy phenomenon.”

M. Scott Peck, The Road Less Traveled

A further benefit of enduring suffering, instead of avoiding or masking it, is that eventually there comes a time when we grow sick of suffering and are struck by an intense motivation to resolve, once and for all, the problems underlying it. Once we cross this “threshold of suffering”, it typically becomes easy to leave behind bad habits and self-sabotaging behaviors, and to cultivate the discipline needed to move in a life-promoting direction. The philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche used this threshold of suffering as a catalyst to eradicate some of his most harmful habits, and as he wrote:

“Indeed, from the bottom of my soul I am gratefully disposed to all my misery and sickness…because such things leave me a hundred back-doors through which I can escape from permanent [bad] habits.”

Nietzsche, The Gay Science

If suffering motivates us to confront our bad habits and problems, we will then have to struggle and suffer in order to overcome them. But in contrast to neurotic suffering which breeds stagnation and a wasted life, this type of suffering is constructive as it leads to personal growth. Or as Peck observed:

“It is through the pain of confronting and resolving problems that we learn…it is in this whole process of meeting and solving problems that life has its meaning….Problems call forth our courage and our wisdom; indeed, they create our courage and our wisdom. It is only because of the pain of problems that we grow mentally and spiritually.”

M. Scott Peck, The Road Less Traveled

It is because legitimate suffering is a great teacher and a spur to personal growth that M. Scott Peck observed that: “…wise people learn not to dread but actually to welcome problems and actually to welcome the pain of problems.” Two of the wisest figures in history, Buddha and Jesus, harnessed the pain inherent in their problems to ascend to an elevated level of consciousness that was marked not only by a profound capacity to endure suffering, but also to experience overflowing joy. Or as Peck explained:

“One measure—and perhaps the best measure—of a person’s greatness is the capacity for suffering. Yet the great are also joyful. This, then, is the paradox. Buddhists tend to ignore the Buddha’s suffering and Christians forget Christ’s joy. Buddha and Christ were not different men. The suffering of Christ letting go on the cross and the joy of Buddha letting go under the bo tree are one.”

M. Scott Peck, The Road Less Traveled

But it is not just the tendency to avoid the pain of our problems that locks us in a mediocre and mentally ill life. It is also our laziness – for as the psychologist Marie-Louise von Franz wrote:

“When people try to evade problems you first have to ask if it is not just laziness. Jung once said, “Laziness is the greatest passion of mankind, even greater than power or sex or anything.””

Marie Louise von Franz, The Way of the Dream

M. Scott Peck defined laziness as “the force of entropy as it manifests in the lives of us all.”  In the external world entropy is the tendency of systems to degenerate into a disordered and stagnant state; while in the inner world of the psyche it is the force of laziness that breeds disorder and stagnation. Laziness is so common and pervasive that Peck called it the one and only original sin, or as he wrote:

“For many years I found the notion of original sin meaningless, even objectionable…Gradually, however, I became increasingly aware of the ubiquitous nature of laziness…original sin does exist; it is our laziness. It is very real…Some of us may be less lazy than others, but we are all lazy to some extent. No matter how energetic, ambitious or even wise we may be, if we truly look into ourselves we will find laziness lurking at some level. It is the force of entropy within us, pushing us down and holding us all back from our spiritual evolution.”

M. Scott Peck, The Road Less Traveled

Many will protest that they are not lazy as they work long hours and devote their limited free time to doing chores, spending time with friends and family, and resting. But as Peck notes, “laziness takes forms other than that related to the bare number of hours spent on the job or devoted to one’s responsibilities to ‘others.’…A major form that laziness takes is fear.” (M. Scott Peck, The Road Less Traveled) Although many of us give lip service to wanting to change, grow, succeed, and perhaps even attain greatness, we often fear personal development more than we desire it, simply because of the immense amount of work and effort that is required. This intimate connection between fear and laziness is why the mind unconsciously devises ingenious ways to justify laziness; as but one example, we tell ourselves that our laziness is not really laziness, but merely the drive to relax and enjoy life – a type of refined hedonism. Or as Peck writes:

“In the earlier stages of spiritual growth, individuals are mostly unaware of their own laziness…This is because the lazy part of the self, like the devil that it may actually be, is unscrupulous and specializes in treacherous disguise. It cloaks its own laziness in all manner of rationalizations, which the more growing part of the self is still too weak to see through easily or to combat.”

M. Scott Peck, The Road Less Traveled

Friedrich Nietzsche also identified laziness as an entropic psychological force which exhibits devil-like qualities, and he recommended a joyful approach to overcoming it. When we see through our rationalizations and become aware of our laziness, instead of feeling guilty, we should laugh at it in the recognition that it is an innate part of human nature. And then we should remind ourselves that true happiness is not found in maximizing time spent in passive leisure activities, rather, it is a byproduct of voluntary effort in the service of personal growth and meaningful goals. In Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Nietzsche called the entropic force of laziness “the spirit of gravity”, and as he wrote:

“And when I saw my devil, I found him serious, thorough, profound, solemn: he was the spirit of gravity – through him all things are ruined. Not by wrath, but by laughter do we slay. Come, let us slay the spirit of gravity! I learned to walk; since then I have run. I have learned to fly: since then I do not have to be pushed in order to move. Now I am nimble, now I fly, now I see myself under myself, now a god dances within me.”

Nietzsche, Thus Spoke Zarathustra

Enduring the legitimate suffering that accompanies confronting and solving personal problems and exerting a joyful self-willed effort in the quest to override the original sin of laziness, is the road less traveled and the way to escape the mediocrity and mental illness that is so rampant in our age. Some may find this advice to be too general and desire a more specific and personalized plan for overcoming their problems, but as Peck cautions:

“There are many who, by virtue of their passivity, dependency, fear and laziness, seek to be shown every inch of the way and have it demonstrated to them that each step will be safe and worth their while. This cannot be done. For the journey of spiritual growth requires courage and initiative and independence of thought and action. While the words of the prophets…are available, the journey must still be traveled alone. No teacher can carry you there. There are no preset formulas.”

USDA Updates Plant Hardiness Zones For First Time In A Decade

USDA Updates Plant Hardiness Zones For First Time In A Decade

Everything you thought you knew about growing plants in your region may have recently changed! For the first time in a decade, the USDA has updated its ‘plant hardiness zone map’, and it looks like things are heating up. That means some growers in various parts of the world can start experimenting with different kinds of plants in the garden.

Warmer Zones

Since the 1960s, the USDA map has been a trusted guide for gardeners everywhere, helping them determine which flowers, fruits and vegetables grow best in their ‘zones.’ The map is divided into 13 zones, further divided into two half-zones. It is based on 30-year averages for the coldest wintertime temperature in a specific location. Created by the USDA and the PRISM climate group, this most recent map edition looked at temperature averages from 1991-2020.

The USDA has updated its plant hardiness zone map for the first time in a decade, and things are getting warmer! Check to see if your growing area has changed.

The USDA has updated its plant hardiness zone map for the first time in a decade, and things are getting warmer! Check to see if your growing area has changed.

“Overall, the 2023 map is about 2.5 degrees warmer than the 2012 map across the conterminous United States,” says the map’s lead author and PRISM director Chris Daly. “This translated into about half of the country shifting to a warmer 5-degree half zone and half remaining in the same half zone.”

With a warming climate and changing weather patterns, it is no surprise to many gardeners that their horticulture zones are changing and will continue to do so over the next several years. However, it is also important to note that the 2023 map contains data collected from new and improved weather-watching technology that didn’t exist when previous maps were created.

“The addition of many new stations and more sophisticated mapping techniques using the latest PRISM technology led to a more accurate and detailed Plant Hardiness Zone Map but also produced localized changes that are not climate-related,” Daly explains.

Check Your Zone!

To get the most out of your garden, stay updated with changes to your specific plant hardiness zone, no matter what source you follow. This will help you adjust planting dates, select seeds, and experiment with new varieties.

A recent study supported by federal funding has uncovered insights into the sleep patterns of individuals dealing with anxiety, revealing that the use of marijuana appears to be linked to improved sleep quality. The research, published in the “Drug and Alcohol Review” journal and conducted collaboratively by teams from the University of Haifa, Colorado State University and the University of Colorado, sought to explore the subjective sleep experiences of 347 individuals utilizing cannabis to manage anxiety.

Over a span of 30 days, participants were engaged in daily surveys where they documented their substance use and recounted their previous night’s sleep experience. The study compared outcomes on days with no substance use, marijuana-only use, alcohol-only use and co-use of both substances.

The findings indicated a notable difference in reported sleep quality, with participants reporting better sleep on marijuana-only days and co-use days in contrast to nonuse days. Intriguingly, alcohol-only use did not exhibit a similar positive association with sleep quality. The study also revealed a correlation between the frequency of alcohol and cannabis use and sleep patterns. Individuals with higher usage frequencies reported enhanced sleep quality on days when marijuana was the sole substance used compared to those who used alcohol and cannabis less frequently.

This correlation challenges the idea that tolerance may diminish the sleep-inducing effects of cannabis, as the study suggests an opposite trend of improved sleep quality with more frequent marijuana use. In addition, contrary to the common belief that alcohol aids in sleep, the research corroborated previous findings that alcohol does not contribute significantly to overall sleep quality, especially when juxtaposed with cannabis.

The study posited that understanding various cannabis combinations and ratios remains limited, emphasizing the need for further research, especially in clinical trials. The inclusion of diverse cannabis types, varying in dosage and product selection, prompted the researchers to acknowledge existing gaps in knowledge, advocating for future trials to address these uncertainties.

The study concluded by emphasizing the urgency of experimental investigations into the effects of cannabis and alcohol on sleep. It underscored the potential positive impact of cannabis on subjective sleep quality for individuals dealing with anxiety. Additionally, it highlighted the need for further exploration into the interplay between the frequency of substance use and its immediate influence on sleep, especially in populations seeking cannabis as a coping mechanism for anxiety, where alcohol and cannabis misuse may be prevalent.

As the health benefits of cannabis gain more attention from the scientific community, demand could grow much faster, which could in turn boost the demand for ancillary services such as those offered by Innovative Industrial Properties Inc. (NYSE: IIPR).

Spiritual Exercise…..Save Me from Myself

by Vernon Howard

What do you have to do in order to start talking about, thinking about, working about the right things? A man or a woman never likes anyone to tell them, no matter how gently you tell them, “Sir, you’re talking about the wrong things, because that’s all you can do, because you don’t know. Therefore, you must talk from ignorance.” There’s one – one type of person and one only – that the truth will hound, that the truth will haunt. The truth will keep after a human being who says, who prays, “Save me from myself.” That prayer is heard up in Heaven.

And Truth will keep after you in spite of yourself. And when you push it away, it’ll come back again. And you’ll run away. It’ll come back again no matter what you do because it heard your prayer. And it knew it was real originally – it’ll keep after you. The others? No! See it just so happens that Truth knows the human heart, whether it’s you, whether it’s me.

It knows it one hundred percent accurately. And it looks down and if it sees that you’re tired of lying, then it knows that that’s your prayer. If it sees that you’re tired of punishing yourself, then that’s the prayer. And it will answer that. Nicely, there is such a thing as beginning to open yourself to it, not taking blows from Truth, because Truth never strikes anyone. You say, “This is hard to understand. This is hard on the ego. That has nothing to do with Truth. Truth is gentle and Truth is loving.”

The blow comes from your own resistance to what Truth is trying to get through to you. Why don’t you just give up the whole business of fighting? And you can start doing that even if you only have a faint notion of what it means. You’re only required to do what you can do at the present moment. And even if there’s a faint glimmer in you that says, “You know, what I’ve heard tonight is the pure truth. And in spite of every obstacle inside or outside me, I’m going to go along with that, because I have never solved my own problems. I am always talking about the wrong things, the wrong things being to complain against life. The wrong thing is to say that I can’t make it.”

Look around at your friends and you know that they have closed their minds, and they’ve closed their hearts to something that is different. They want to be only themselves. That is up to them. They’re not being very wise. You can be wiser. You can see, you can look out in the world and you can see the whole world is always talking about the wrong things. You can learn to talk about right things right here. You start with thinking we’re pretty mixed up.

I told you that was the first step, to see how wrong we are inwardly, and not identify with it. Not feel bad over the fact that you’re so bad. But simply observe it scientifically and see and say how self-defeating you are. You will find yourself quite magically talking about right things. You will feel the rightness of your new statements. You will see the vanity fall away. You can’t push it away.

Vanity cannot push vanity away. But the admission of vanity, that’s the start for the Light pushing it away. For those of you who want something different, who are willing to admit that you’ve been wrong, as difficult as it is to admit that it’s wrong, if you do it, that’s a beautiful thing. And you can begin to change. You can begin to grow. You can begin to understand. And you can begin to lose all the pain you used to have when you rejected Truth.

The burden that was on you all your life will begin to be lifted. It’ll become lighter, and lighter and lighter. It’ll be a very real thing to you. And so ladies and gentlemen, I leave you with your decision. Truth says, “Come and I will heal.” Listen to that voice!

Evidence admissible in drug case despite Charter concerns, Supreme Court rules

OTTAWA — The Supreme Court of Canada has upheld a man’s drug-related conviction, saying evidence in his case is admissible despite concerns about violation of his Charter rights.

In February 2017 near Banff, Alta., a police officer pulled over George Zacharias’s truck because the windows were illegally tinted and a light wasn’t working.

The officer, upon suspecting illicit drug activity, called in backup support and a sniffer dog.

A search of the truck turned up a large amount of cannabis and Zacharias was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Zacharias alleged that police had breached his Charter rights to be protected from unreasonable search and seizure and arbitrary detention.

But the trial judge admitted the evidence on grounds that excluding it would bring the administration of justice into disrepute.
