Trina, co-managing partner at Brazeau Seller Law, is an effective problem solver and trusted advisor to her business clients. While having a broad business law practice, Trina’s area of expertise is cannabis law. As head of BSL’s CannaLaw® group, Trina has emerged as a leading practitioner in cannabis law and is often called upon for comment and opinion.

In addition to acting for licensed producers of medical cannabis in Canada, she advises various other cannabis industry participants such as clinics, software/application providers, investors and capital funds, as well as those seeking entry to the soon-to-be legalized consumer (recreational) cannabis market.

Trina is a registered trademark agent and provides counsel to her clients in protecting their intellectual property.

She studied at Queen’s University, where she earned Bachelor of Commerce and Juris Doctor degrees.

Community involvement is very important to Trina. She sits on the board of directors of The Snowsuit Fund and provides legal services on a pro bono basis to several local not-for-profit organizations, including the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.

Mr. David Sutton, MBA, serves as President & COO of NanoSphere Health Sciences Inc, which he co-founded in 2013. Mr. Sutton’s focus has been business development for the biotech leader, having spearheaded the business strategy for NanoSphere’s cannabis brand Evolve Formulas, leading the division to multi-state and international expansions. Prior to his role with NanoSphere, Mr. Sutton assisted several start-up companies in business planning and capital development. Mr. Sutton consulted for CeeLite Technologies, an innovator and developer of new lighting sources. He engaged in licensing negotiations with Apple for their use of CeeLite’s technology in Apple products. Mr. Sutton holds an MBA in finance from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. He holds Bachelor’s Degree in economics from the University of Colorado.

Mike Lickver

Mike Lickver

Mike Lickver is the Executive Vice President of Strategy of Auxly Cannabis Group Inc. (TSX-V:XLY), a vertically integrated Canadian cannabis company. Prior to joining Auxly, Mike was a corporate and commercial lawyer at a large international Bay Street law firm where he co-founded the cannabis practice in 2013 and helped grow it into a global leader. As one of Canada’s leading advisors in the cannabis industry he has represented a variety of global industry participants and has played a key role in a wide variety of domestic and international corporate and commercial transactions since the inception of the cannabis industry in Canada. Mike speaks frequently at conferences across the globe on topics related to the cannabis industry and, a frequent author to the industry, is also the Canadian Editor of the International Cannabis Law Journal. Mike is also an adjunct professor at Western Law where he teaches “Cannabis Law and Practice”, a course he designed and developed and the first of its kind in Canada. Mike also sits on the board of directors of Dixie Brands, Inc., the Arts and Culture Committee for the UJA Federation of Greater Toronto and has previously acted as a director for various not-for-profits and privately held cannabis companies.  

 

Mike earned Law (J.D.) and MBA degrees from the University of Western Ontario and the Richard Ivey School of Business.
