Dalton Higgins

Dalton Higgins is a publicist, author of seven books, and award-winning journalist. Higgins’ publicity roster includes clients that have won Grammy Awards (USA), Emmy Awards (USA), BET Awards (USA), The Mercury Prize (UK), Victoires de la Musique/French Grammy’s (France), Juno Awards (Canada), the Polaris Music Prize (Canada) and Grammis/Swedish Grammy (Sweden) nominations. Higgins has executed PR campaigns for award-winning sports TV and film properties including Black Ice, executive produced by LeBron James, Drake and Maverick Carter. His book Far from Over: The Music and Life of Drake is carried in the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame collection in Cleveland, while his best-selling Hip Hop World book is carried in Harvard University’s hip hop archive. His forthcoming book 101 Fascinating Basketball Facts (Dundurn Press) unpacks the myths and realities behind the second most popular sport in the world. Higgins taught the university course “Deconstructing Drake and The Weeknd” that was featured on CNN, New York Times, and NPR. A former reporter for leading NYC-based urban music magazines The Source and Vibe Magazine, over the last two decades Higgins has hosted his own cable TV show “Urban Groove” (BPM TV), co-produced and co-hosted podcasts for the CBC (This Is Not a Drake podcast) and Rogers Media (Black Tea), is a regular pundit on CBC’s “Commotion” radio show and has conducted a wide range of “live” on-stage, in-person interviews with cultural icons including Charlamagne Tha God, Public Enemy’s Chuck D, Nelson George, KRS-One, Jermaine Dupri, and Just Blaze.
