Rick Simpson has for years now been a household name to anyone who has ever heard about the healing properties of cannabis oil – RSO.
This former engineer from Canada gained notoriety for growing cannabis in his own garden, producing cannabis oil and giving it away for free to those in dire need of a natural and highly effective remedy. This was while he was still living in Canada until 2009 when the Royal Canadian Mounted Police did the final raid at his home. Rick was officially charged for possession, cultivation and trafficking. However, he was let off with a fine, because there was no monetary gain from his activities.
After rediscovering the healing potency of cannabis oil, he made his findings and recipe accessible to everyone on his web page www.phoenixtears.ca in 2004. Rick never even tried to patent the oil or the method he used to produce the oil, because he felt that this is knowledge everyone should have for free, so they could learn how they can deal with their medical problems themselves.
Today these extracts are usually called RSO or Rick Simpson Oil and it was the late cannabis activist Jack Herer himself who coined this phrase.
Even though many people in the industry use his name for their products, he has no connection with any individual or company producing cannabis oil extracts and still has no monetary gain from the recipe which he gave away for free.
In his strive to make the knowledge about cannabis oil widely spread and recognised, he authored two books “Phoenix Tears – The Rick Simpson Story” and “Rick Simpson Oil – Nature’s Answer for Cancer”. He travelled the world giving numerous lectures and interviews, while holding a base in Croatia, Europe since 2013.
He is one of the people whose hard work and activism helped pave the way for new legislatures and consequently legalisation of cannabis in many countries.
Countless people around the world know Rick Simpson as the man whose oil is keeping their health in check or has in fact saved their life.
Since 2018 Rick has been less present on the cannabis scene and away from the spotlight due to suffering a stroke. However, he still remains an avid activist and an important voice for the cannabis community.
The only two websites Rick Simpson is affiliated with are www.phoenixtears.ca, where everyone can still find his recipe and story, and also www.simpsonramadur.com, him and his wife’s publishing company.
