The Elders

When i was a child, i had a vision that was to never leave me. I lived in rather an ordinary town, which sat on a hill. Beyond the elevation on which the town was situated, the rest of the landscape was completely flat – ‘as far as the eye can see’, so the horizon was clearly visible to the west – which is where i used to gaze. The skies were something else when i was a child – the huge expanse of sky which presented itself from the bottom of my garden, in the suburb of the town in which i lived, was always a thing of utter amazement to me – and gave me hours of occupation.

So it was my common practice to watch the sun go down – to watch the clouds as they blew across this great expanse of sky, contemplating this great beyond. On one occasion while i was watching the sky, thunderous clouds seemed to roll in on the horizon, dark foreboding clouds; which threatened rain. Well in the clouds, what seemed to be faces were beginning to form, and it was evident to me that something was coming – then across the sky i saw the all faces of the “Grandfathers”. They looked like Indian chiefs resplendent with Indian feathered headdress. They were arranged across the sky in a 180° view; from one side of the landscape to the other. They were there; in what seemed like a timeless manner – their living, unaffected by time and that somehow, time was not relevant for them. The moment past and the faces in the clouds dispersed.

At this time i was given a secret name of the creator this was revealed to me when i had a chance to recapitulate the vision properly – and i believe i was chosen by the spirit – for a purpose, and I believe that purpose was to heal. But what is the point of me telling you all this. Well, the spirit chooses early in the life of the individual, perhaps this choosing is done before we even enter the world, our purpose given for us to fulfill or not as the case may be. But there is a point early in the life of the person that the spirit makes itself known.

These omens should be heeded. But if they are not, my experience, it is that you will keep getting the same message repeatedly, until you receive the message and the lesson is learnt. If this carries on unheeded, also my experience is, that the warnings will peter out and the person will carry on to living something of an ordinary life. But it is never too late. Because these Omens are landmarks in our journey through life – signposts if you like. Also, affirmations that we are on a Right Path – a path with heart.

“To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other.”

420 with CNW — Nevada Eases Rules on Cannabis Consumption Lounges, Issues Conditional Licenses

Last week, the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board unanimously passed a resolution that loosened rules for cannabis consumption lounges in the state. The measure, which also granted a trio of conditional licenses, reduced air-ventilation standards for cannabis consumption lounges in Las Vegas and other areas in the state.

Specifically, the number of complete air changes per hour in a single smoking room has dropped to 20 from 30. This is in line with similar venues, including taverns, cigar lounges and hookah bars. The board also reduced air revolutions in nonsmoking areas of marijuana consumption lounges from 20 times every hour to six times in an hour.

Prior to the board meeting, executives involved in the industry had voiced their concerns on regulations for consumption lounges, in particular those that cover indoor air quality and the hefty costs of air-ventilation system installation and maintenance. The regulators’ actions offer additional clarity for operators to proceed with design and construction plans while also making it easier and cheaper for lounges to launch in this tourist market.

Argentum Partners’ partner Scot Rutledge stated that these changes would allow new small businesses to operate safely while decreasing burdensome requirements that would cost thousands of dollars.

Sala Consulting President Chris Anderson stated in a meeting with regulators that the changes reduced the initial investment and operational costs of running the ventilation systems while also lowering the entry barrier for lounge operators. Sala Consulting represents one of the three companies that received a conditional license for a cannabis consumption lounge, Planet 13. The other two companies are Cheyenne Medical and Common Sense Botanicals Nevada.

In addition, regulators also approved the use of Billow, a smoke-elimination device that enables users to consumer cannabis via a closed-loop filtration system. The system’s inventor, Shanel Lindsay, stated that the company was thrilled that regulators approved the use of this device, allowing for innovative technology to be utilized in marijuana consumption lounges as an alternative to expensive systems. This, Lindsay noted, would allow equity businesses to thrive while also protecting employees of these businesses.

It is expected that other jurisdictions in the country will follow suit as these developments continue in Nevada, a tourist market that almost 40 million individuals visited in 2022.

At the moment, however, consumption lounges are still far from launch. This comes after the board signaled that further changes on air-quality standards in marijuana consumption lounges would be adopted at its next meeting.

As these lounges open and tourists flock in, product demand is likely to surge, and as a result, cultivation equipment of the kind that Advanced Container Technologies Inc. (OTC: ACTX) produces is likely to see increased sales.

Toronto Police arrest man in connection with violent cannabis store robbery

Toronto Police arrest man in connection with violent cannabis store robbery

Toronto Police have arrested a man in connection with an armed cannabis store robbery that occurred on June 21.

On Wednesday, June 28, 2023, members of the Toronto Police Services (TPS) Hold Up Squad located the man and took him into custody. Hold Up is responsible for conducting investigations into the offences such as robberies occurring at retail business establishments, robberies occurring at financial institutions, robberies involving armoured truck personnel, and home invasion robberies

Police were called to a cannabis store near Dundas Street West and Burnhamthorpe Road on Wednesday, June 21, after a male suspect allegedly entered the store, produced a handgun, and jumped over the checkout counter.

Police allege the man then tackled an employee and placed them in a chokehold while demanding they open a safe. He also allegedly struck an employee several times with the handgun, before taking cash from the register and safe, as well as cannabis products, before fleeing the store.

Members of the Hold Up Squad commenced an investigation and were able to identify the man as Richard Robert Smith, 38, of Milton, Ontario. Milton is charged with robbery with a firearm, and assault with a weapon.

On Wednesday, June 28, 2023, members of the Hold Up Squad located the man and took him into custody, for dangerous weapons, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, and a failure to comply with probation.

Smith appeared in court for a Bail Hearing on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 10:00 am, at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre.

NFL Star Says Psychedelics Boosted His Performance

The world is currently in the midst of a psychedelic renaissance that has seen dozens of research teams worldwide dedicate themselves to studying the potential mental health benefits of psychedelic-assisted treatments. Although psychedelic research is still a new field, initial studies and anecdotal reports from users indicate that hallucinogens have many significant mental health benefits.

Psychedelics have also enjoyed increased mainstream attention in recent years partly thanks to support from celebrities and public personalities. These celebrity testimonies, endorsements and, in some cases, investments in psychedelic research have significantly increased public interest in psychedelics at a time when the United States is in desperate need of safer and more effective mental health treatments.

National Football League’s (NFL) Aaron Rodgers is one of the latest celebrities to throw his support behind the growing psychedelic reform movement. The football star has long been an advocate for psychedelic reform, and he recently spoke at the Psychedelic Science 2023 convention in Denver, Colorado.

Rodgers said that previous experiences with ayahuasca, a psychedelic concoction that originated from South America, have allowed him to boost his performance on the field. According to Rodgers, ayahuasca played a significant role in him achieving 48 touchdowns and five interceptions and becoming MVP while he played with the Green Bay Packers.

Like several other psychedelics, ayahuasca has exhibited some mental health benefits in initial studies. Research has found that ayahuasca may have neuroprotective properties that allow it to stimulate the growth of neural cells and protect brain cells. Furthermore, studies show the psychedelic concoction may alleviate addiction disorders and depression while improving mindfulness and boosting mood.

Since the NFL has verified that its policy does not ban the use of ayahuasca, Rodgers was completely in the clear for indulging in the psychedelic. The quarterback may have been ridiculed in the past due to his preference for alternative medicines, but he believes ayahuasca helped him up his game.

This February, the quarterback went to a four-day darkness retreat to help him “get in a better headspace and have greater peace in his life.” Speaking at the convention, Rogers said that athletes in the NFL and other sports leagues have approached him for guidance on how to take psychedelics. He said that people now have the opportunity to dispel misconceptions about psychedelics by sharing their medical and spiritual journeys with each other.

The recent psychedelics event was held in Denver, one of the first regions in the country to pass propsychedelics policies. Legislators in several states are now working to legalize the therapeutic use of psychedelics such as ayahuasca, ketamine and psilocybin mushrooms.

With more events similar to the conference in Denver likely to be organized in the coming years, the pioneering work being done by startups such as Delic Holdings Corp. (CSE: DELC) (OTCQB: DELCF) is likely to be showcased more, resulting in growing public interest.

TerrAscend Declares its Independence

(Globe Newswire) Toronto — TerrAscend’s common shares will commence trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange on July 4, 2023 under the new ticker symbol “TSND.” No action is required by shareholders in order to continue trading their common shares as a result of the TSX Listing or the change in ticker symbol.

“The U.S. cannabis industry is an economic, employment, and wellness engine that has been forced to endure onerous treatment by the federal government within an uncertain and inequitable regulatory environment. 12 months ago, we made the decision to take our destiny into our own hands. We would no longer be at the mercy of U.S. regulatory reform. Over this time, we significantly reduced our expenses, transformed our balance sheet, materially lowered our interest expense, and became cash flow positive, all while driving sector-leading revenue growth.

“With our brand new cultivation facility and recent acquisitions in Maryland, we are set up for further success with adult-use sales set to come online in advance of our TSX Listing. We believe the TSX Listing will provide the company greater access to a broader group of institutional and retail investors looking for attractive opportunities in the cannabis space. With all of the fundamental progress we have made, and a confirmed date now set for our listing, we have achieved our goal of becoming truly independent of the need for regulatory reform. We would like to thank the TSX for their courageous leadership and we are honoured to be listed on their exchange.” — Jason Wild, executive chairman, TerrAscend

In connection with the TSX Listing, the common shares will be delisted from the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE) at the close of markets on June 30, 2023. The Canadian stock markets are closed for Canada Day on July 3, 2023.
