AKB is a writer and strategist with a diverse background in creative projects, currently residing on the ancestral land of the syilx / Okanagan. Currently, AKB works for Joint Venture Craft Cannabis as their Supply and SKU Manager and is pursuing creative projects, including an exhibition at the Kelowna Community Theatre (April-May 2024) and landing on the 2024 UBC Short Story Contest shortlist.
AKB’s academic journey includes a Bachelor of Arts in Western Art History and a minor in Anthropology, specializing in Indigenous aesthetics, museum curation & colonial impacts. In addition to this, AKB holds multiple cannabis education certificates including CannaReps Sommelier and Green Flower programs.
AKB worked as the first Canadian Cannabis Sommelier for a medical and recreational LP from 2020 to 2022 and has vast experience as a public speaker, educator and media personality, operating under the pseudonym “The High Giant.” Many of their work in the cannabis industry advocates for minorities in the cannabis industry and alternative healing methods – drawing from their opioid-free spinal surgery recovery in 2021 and indigenous roots.

AKB has been featured on ADCANN, CBC, StratCann and Ganjapreneur and has collaborated with various brands including Rilaxe, Sweet Justice, Simply Bare, Pacific Rim Innovations, Budtenders Association, and Forij Mushrooms.
