Completing his MSc. from the University of Guelph in 2014, Andrew began at MedReleaf leading ideation, method development, and management of all aspects of Cannabis cultivation, processing, scientific analysis, breeding and product development. With an aptitude for understanding complex systems, effective servant leadership and respectful communication, Andrew regularly worked with all departments to define and lead facility performance projects, provide scientific insight, and to bring new cultivars to market. Dozens of new cultivars were brought to market on a regular and predictable cadence through Andrew’s breeding program, with demonstrably improved critical traits. This led to 26 Plant Breeding Right patents in Canada, the US and Europe, with Andrew as the primary inventor in all cases. Andrew’s goal is to ensure the Cannabis industry is sustainable, profitable, innovative, and above all, respectful to its history, consumers and cultivators.
