Andrew (Andy) Kain is the founder and principal of AMK Advisory Services, an M&A consultancy firm that provides strategic advice to public and private companies, boards, and investors in the global cannabis industry. Andy is the former Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel to Harvest One, where he was responsible for executing the corporation’s strategic review and divestiture of its non-core assets to position Harvest One as an asset-light cannabis-infused CPG company. Prior to joining Harvest One, Andy operated his own law practice providing strategic corporate, legal and regulatory advisory services to start-up and early-stage companies in emerging industries including, for the previous 5 years, the cannabis industry. During this time, Andy also co-founded, and was former President of, Windular Research and Technologies Inc., a privately held corporation that provides innovative renewable energy systems and services to the global telecommunications industry (www.windular.com). Windular was acquired by EnerDynamic Hybrid Technologies Corp. (TSX.V:EHT) in August, 2021.
Prior to operating his law practice, Andy was General Counsel to a US$5+ billion global hedge fund that operated a proprietary quantitative trading platform and managed a US$2+ billion group of funds and private equity investment portfolio, where he worked with investment banks, brokerage houses, exchanges and regulatory bodies in capital markets around the globe.
With his extensive legal, regulatory, capital markets and cannabis experience, Andy provides his cannabis industry clients with a comprehensive portfolio of advisory services on all of their M&A, investment, divestiture and strategic business needs.
