I am currently Professor of Biological Sciences at Simon Fraser University in the Department of Biological Sciences. I study plant pathogens on a range of crop plants, including small fruits, greenhouse vegetables, wasabi and ginseng. My research group is currently investigating diseases of cannabis and developing disease management strategies.
I obtained my BSc in Plant Sciences from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC. I then moved to California where I obtained my MSc and PhD in Plant Pathology from the University of California, Davis.
After a 1-year post-doctoral position, I moved to North Carolina State University, Raleigh to take a joint position with the university and Campbell Soup Company.
I worked at Campbell Soup Company in North Carolina, California and in New Jersey before joining Simon Fraser University.
My research group currently investigates cannabis pathogens affecting the growth, quality and yield.
