Elliot Fromowitz is the Organic Systems Advisor and Technical Expert at Coast Mountain Cannabis, where he specializes in living-soil cultivation and regenerative plant management. With numerous years of experience in organic agriculture and the traditional principles of herbalism, Elliot has dedicated his career to studying the methods of nature, and the ways plants and people have worked together throughout history and applying that knowledge to modern cannabis production.
Over the past seven years at Coast, he has honed his expertise in building and maintaining a thriving soil biome, one that continues to flourish in the original beds and original soil created at the facility’s inception. By integrating principles from the Soil Food Web, Korean Natural Farming (KNF), biodynamic methodology, Herbalism and other regenerative approaches, Elliot has helped sustain a resilient, balanced, and highly productive living-soil ecosystem.
Elliot’s work is rooted in the belief that understanding soil begins with understanding ourselves. The human body is its own complex ecosystem, powered by millions of microorganisms that regulate health, immunity, and vitality. By studying the parallels between the human microbiome and the soil biome, diversity, balance, cooperation, and resilience, Elliot emphasizes that growers can cultivate healthier plants by recognizing the same biological patterns that govern life within us. This perspective guides his approach to farming: nurture the biology, respect the system, and the system will thrive.
