Laurie is the Technologist for the Commercial Cannabis Production program and is also a graduate of the inaugural class. She has a passion for horticulture and always strives to produce the best quality product possible. Laurie enjoys growing Cannabis and wide variety of plants using various systems and different techniques.
She has worked in the horticulture industry for over 17 years and her husband often refers to her as a ‘plant nerd’. Upon completion of her diploma in horticulture she started at Sheridan Nurseries as an assistant grower then moved into the head grower position. Wanting to move back home to be closer to family she started working for NVK – Connon Nurseries where she held various positions such as the head perennial grower and department supervisor.
During her time in the Cannabis Program she worked with UP Cannabis (now Hexo), Green Relief and as a student technician with the Cannabis Program. She is excited to be a part of the rapidly evolving cannabis industry!
