Liam Buirs

Liam works as the IPM Specialist at Pure Sunfarms, where he manages the IPM program in Pure Sunfarms 1.65 million square feet of greenhouse space in Delta, British Columbia.

He is also a Master of Science student at Simon Fraser University in the Department of Biological Sciences, performing cannabis research in the Plant Biotechnology Lab. His thesis focuses on exploring various solutions for suppressing Botrytis cinerea (Grey mould) in cannabis inflorescences.
Liam was previously a student of Horticulture at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, completing both a Diploma in Sustainable Production Horticulture and a Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture Science with a Plant Health Major.

When he’s not exploring the many facets of cannabis IPM, he’s usually out exploring the natural world.
