The past two decades have seen a dramatic shift in attitudes toward cannabis among both the American public and lawmakers. Millions of Americans now have access to marijuana through dozens of medical and recreational cannabis markets, and the controversial plant has strong support in legislative circles.
Several polls also show that a majority of Americans support legalizing or decriminalizing the plant in some capacity. For example, a 2022 study by Pew Research Center found that 88% of American adults say medical and recreational cannabis use should be legal for adults while only 10% said cannabis shouldn’t be legal.
With cannabis drawing incredible support from both Americans and their representatives, fighting the wave of cannabis reform sweeping across the country can seem nigh impossible. In fact, anticannabis legalization groups at Capitol Hill are having an exceedingly hard time keeping the fight alive now that several top lawmakers are seriously considering federal cannabis legalization.
Even so, a small but persistent group of lawmakers mostly drawn from the Republican Party are still fighting against procannabis policies in Washington, and they seem to be pushing back. The group of lawmakers has won several important victories against cannabis reform policies in recent months including halting progress on a critical cannabis bill.
Republican Senator James Lankford heavily criticized the methodology and necessity of research proposed by a bill on marijuana-based treatments for conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Pressure from conservative factions eventually caused the bill to be passed out of committee unanimously.
According to Justin Strekal, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) former director in charge of political affairs and founder of a procannabis legalization PAC, cannabis reform has reached the “fight you” stage. With drug reformists in the nation scoring major wins in recent years, Strekal said the recent losses to anti-legalization factions showed that things can go wrong at the last moment.
More than a dozen lawmakers led by Lankford and Representative Pete Sessions also sent a letter to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration asking it to reject a proposal to reduce federal cannabis restrictions by the Biden administration. This came after President Joe Biden directed the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to recommend a review of marijuana’s status under the Controlled Substances Act.
The lawmakers argued that cannabis rescheduling decisions should be based on science and proven facts rather than popular opinion or legislative changes at the state level.
Senators Cynthia Lummis and Steve Daines were also quick to respond and introduced a bill that would require Congressional approval before the Biden administration could make any changes to federal cannabis policy.
These unfolding political developments are likely to be kept on the radars of cannabis companies such as Cresco Labs Inc. (CSE: CL) (OTCQX: CRLBF) since the outcome could impact the trajectory of the industry in the United States.

Luke 8:17 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.
Now is the time of revelation. A time when the ugly truth of our reality rises up through its churning sea of glittering scum, and reveals itself to the world.
The Shift of Ages is in event mode. The cosmic changes we have waited twenty six thousand years for are manifesting. To navigate the changes ‘the cleansing wind’ will bring in our awareness and our lives, we need to understand, and comes to terms with, the truth about our contrived and controlled reality. Affairs are no longer confined to the physical world of the senses. Affairs are now soul size.
In my post Aquarius Rising, we discussed the planet Uranus and its role in the chaos, wars and upheaval cycles that happened in the past. Uranus rules Aquarius, the first house of the New Order and because of present world events, I would like to revisit Uranus in Taurus and what it portends for humanity.
Big time electromagnetic conflict
Uranus the psychic sledgehammer is incompatible with the ultra-fixed earth sign of Taurus. Imagine a cosmic thunderbolt hitting the earth element. it would create energetic and physical changes on every level of being.
The 1850 – 1859 cycle of Uranus in Taurus
Uranus in Taurus was marked by the world wide suppression and genocide of indigenous people by colonial powers. The Crimean War, the Franco Austrian War and the USA wars against Native America. Conquered nations in the US wars of 1855 include Yakima, Tillamook, Nisqually, Muckleshoot, Puyallup, Klickitat, Haida, Tlingit, Seminole, and Sioux.
Uranus in Taurus 1934-1942 and WW2
Uranus was in Taurus 1934-1942. The nineteen thirties saw the great depression, the rise of Hitler and National Socialism culminating in WW2. Seventy five million people lost their lives. Forty million of the dead were civilians who were deliberately destroyed through genocide, massacres, mass bombings and starvation. The war was not about freedom. It was a political struggle for control amongst the elite hybrid families that run this world. And it seems history is about to repeat itself in 2023.
– 2018-2026 Uranus in Taurus and WW3
Shock and awe!
First came the covid era of lockdowns, masks, social distancing and police brutality.
Three years to go…
Right now, we see a destroyed Ukraine and the middle east in flames….No doubt leading to WW3.
Turmoil in the air
When Aquarius is in Taurus earth shaking events happen every time.
The French Revolution and the storming of the Bastille. The Boston Tea Party, and Indian revolts against the British.
Pretty wild, huh! especially if you think wars are random. They are cyclic and astrologically induced. And mankind is at the mercy of cosmic forces beyond his control.
Human pawns on a chess board
As we reach the last few seconds on the doomsday clock, war is in fashion and human misery is the cat walk of the day. That’s the message from the main stream news…from your te-lie-vision, and your vibrating cellular phone connection to AI. Got to stay connected, baby. That’s the slogan!
The satanic cabal that run the world fund both sides of the conflicts they create. Using their corrupt main stream media they continue to poison our minds with weaponised propaganda and lies. ‘Look here, ‘ a new deadly virus’. Look there, ‘ more atrocities of war’. ‘Look everywhere’ food shortages…mass shootings, flash mob raids on stores. They keep pumping out the fear until our heads are on a bloody swivel. No wonder we are distracted. No wonder we can’t see through the smoke and mirrors of our contrived reality. The elite have us all sewn up. They know how we think and how we act when emotionally disturbed….how easy it is to control us. They show us a few AI generated (fake) photographs of slaughter along with a bunch of fake news to play on our emotions. And what happens…people are all riled up by fact or fiction it doesn’t matter. On both sides of the aisle of life, judgement is passed and strident voices are raised in hateful rhetoric. The stage is set and the conflict begins….Billions of people are so brainwashed by propaganda and other people’s thinking that war after bloody war, they are willing to send their sons and daughters to die for the bankers and elitists. Die so that the rich can get their hands on more resources. Die in the name of greed…
Meanwhile the military industrial complex is rubbing its bloodstained hands in expectation of huge profits. Dirty money that floats on the violent deaths of billions of people.
We need to wake up to the fact that wars are cyclic, astrologically induced, and that human beings are being manipulated by a very evil force. We can see from the data that during the cycles of Uranus in Taurus, wars are especially apocalyptic in nature. Countries change hands upon a mountain of lost lives only to change hands again when the priorities demand it.
The rigged financial systems of the world have always had their peaks and crashes, but when Uranus is in Taurus the effects of a crash are on a much more dramatic footing. Fiat currency will collapse. Aquarius will usher in innovation in technology which will lead to a different form of finance.
The elite are occultists. They are very well aware that certain astrological energies can inflame human consciousness and so they ride on the backs of these cycles to advance their agenda. Central bank digital currencies have been in the works for a while and now with the energies of economic collapse inbound….the digital dollar is waiting in the wings.
All planned, folks.
What about the animals, birds and fish?
It’s not just humans that suffer because of man’s madness. It is all living things…the unfortunate creatures that have to share this planet with an insane bi-polar species. Hundreds of miles of land mines have been planted in what’s left of Ukraine blowing up what little wildlife remains. The exploding bombs in the sea, and the underwater frequencies used by war lusted, power crazed entities…can’t call them human… are damaging the sonic capabilities of whales, dolphins and marine life. And right now in real time, cluster bombs, cruise missiles and weapons of war are levelling cities and destroying all that lives within.
But how many people give a fuck…? Immersed as they are in their ego bubble of I Am. Their strident voices preaching the satanic doctrine of taking sides. They are the matrix…they are duality… so easy to motivate in the wrong direction.
Going in the right direction
“When you become aware of silence, immediately there is a state of inner still alertness. You are present. You have stepped out of thousand of years of collective human conditioning.” Echart Tolle.
I have posted many articles about the quiet mind. The serene state of consciousness and the profound sense of inner peace, I have experienced through sundance singing and sun gazing. When we can contact the pure consciousness inside us we experience a state of bliss. An exalted understanding that doesn’t depend on anything external. No time, no sense of self, no personal history just a loving awareness. It is inner space that the magic happens. We become aware that we are in essence One with all life.
To enter this sublime state thinking has to be silenced. Only then in the silence can we experience our connection to Source Creator and the spiritual worlds. It is our pure awareness that resides in inner space not outer space. A consciousness that remains when the activity of our senses and our thinking stops.
So my friends, cultivate a quiet mind so you can hear the soft voice of spirit and be ready for the incoming massive shift in human awareness.
The Sleep of Prisoners by Christopher Fry.
The human heart can go the lengths of God. Dark and cold we may be but this is no winter now. The frozen misery of centuries breaks, cracks, begins to move. The thunder is the the thunder of the floes, the thaw, the flood, the upstart Spring. Thank God our time is Now. When wrong comes up to face us everywhere.
Never to leave us till we take the largest stride of soul men ever took. Affairs are now soul size….The enterprise is exploration into God. Where are you making for? It takes so many thousand years to wake. But will you wake for pity’s sake.

Among the techniques to separate a solid-liquid mixture, gravity filtration is by far the most basic and it has been used since ancient times. Early in human history, people used to filtrate muddy water from rivers and lakes, letting it pass through sand or porous material in order to obtain clear water.
The same principle was widely applied in agriculture: the water from highlands was channeled to reach lowlands and during the path it was let passed through filters in order to retain rocks, branches or other impurities, obtaining clear water.
The gravity filtration principle is applied also in the carafes to purify water: depending on the kind of filter, the system is capable of holding back unwanted substances such as chlorine, microplastics, limestone, heavy metals among others.
Gravity filtration is commonly used also in chemistry laboratories and the method can be either applied to remove unwanted solid impurities from a solution or to isolate a solid material from a liquid mixture. If the process of filtration needs to be done faster another option is using vacuum filtration instead of gravity filtration. With the application of vacuum the liquid will be filtered out more efficiently from the solid material and the time of separation between the liquid and the solid will be shortened.
Gravity filtration ⎯ The method
To perform a standard gravity filtration it is necessary to have a filter paper and cut it of the right size that is a few millimeters below the rim of a stemmed funnel. The filter paper can be folded into a cone by first folding it in half, and then in half again. The semi-permeable paper is used to separate solid fine particles from a liquid or a gas and it will constitute the barrier of our separation. Once the filter paper is placed in the stemmed funnel, the latter is placed into an Erlenmeyer flask, round bottom flask or other glassware depending on the needs. The filter paper can be wetted with a few milliliters of the solvent that will be used in the next step in order to hold in place the filter into the funnel. [1] [2] The mixture to be filtered is poured into the funnel, into portions if necessary. The liquid will flow down thanks to gravity and the solid particles will accumulate in the filter paper.
Gravity filtration ⎯ limitations
If this method is used to evaluate the yield of a precipitation reaction, it should be noticed that gravity filtration can have some limitations.
The solid precipitate will adhere to the filter paper and if the operator is not accurate, it could be possible to have some discrepancies in the weight between the measured product yield and the final product yield. Moreover with gravity filtration, the liquid needs more time to drip down in the bottom flask and the precipitate will stay wet of solvent for a longer time. If these things are not taken into account, it could be possible to have a wrong final weight thus the yield of our product.
Depending on the amount of precipitate in the filter and on the size of the particles, the solvent flow could stop due to filter clogging. The gravity filtration process could become particularly long and laborious.
It should be noticed that the filter could also brake and the solid particle could contaminate the underlying liquid. In this case the gravity filtration should be repeated but this could lead to additional time, solvent used, possible product loss etc.
It is always good practice to consider these downsides of gravity filtration before deciding which filtration method to employ. Depending on our needs, gravity filtration could lead to experimental errors and it could be less accurate than other methods such as vacuum filtration.
Gravity filtration ⎯ in the context of Cannabis
During cannabinoid content analyses of different cannabis chemovars, gravity filtration could be an option during the sample preparation for the laboratory analytical process.
We report here an example of the work-flow.
The cannabis inflorescences can be grinded in order to enhance the surface subjected to the solvent and improve the cannabinoid extraction.
After that a specific amount of ground cannabis is weighted and put into an Erlenmeyer flask.
A certain amount of solvent such as ethanol or methanol can be added to the flask in order to extract all the cannabinoids from the plant material. The mixture can be put into an ultrasonic bath for a certain amount of time in order to speed up the extraction process.
At this point we will pour the liquid into a paper filter placed in a funnel into a volumetric flask. The neck of volumetric flasks is elongated and narrow with a ring of graduation marking that should not be overcome in order to have the right dilution.
The same plant material can be extracted for three consecutive times with fresh solvent and put into the ultrasonic bath in order to be sure to have extracted all the cannabinoids. Take care to not put too much solvent in order to have the right final dilution into the volumetric flask.
As said the volumetric flask will help us to dilute our extraction liquid in order to not oversaturate the analytical equipment. To make an example if we put the concentrated solution of cannabis extract into the sampler of an high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), the high concentration of cannabinoids will result in a chromatogram out of scale, making useless the analysis and impossible the exact cannabinoid quantification.
Once obtained the right dilution, the solution can be placed into a HPLC test tube and the analysis can be performed.
In this context the process of gravity filtration is used to avoid that the ground cannabis plant material enters into the extract. This could modify the final analysis and in some cases the solid particles could also clog the thin analysis needle of the HPLC machinery.
Vacuum Filtration
A way to overcome the downsides of gravity filtration is performing vacuum filtration. This method is particularly helpful when we need to perform the process in a short time and we need an accurate final result.
Vacuum filtration is mainly used to collect solid material coming from a precipitation reaction or from a recrystallization procedure.
This method can be performed using a Buchner funnel on a side-arm flask. The reduced pressure will force the flow of the liquid solution through a filter paper placed into the Buchner funnel. Keeping the reduced pressure for a while will help drying completely the solid accumulated in the funnel thus removing all the solvent excess.
If we are interested in collecting the liquid part instead of the solid, with vacuum filtration it is possible to maximize the yield because all the solvent will be forced out from the solid through reduced pressure. [1]
A study published recently in the American Chemical Society’s (ACS) journal Omega suggests that terpenes are only part of the picture when determining what compounds are responsible for the aroma of cannabis.
The study argues that different samples of cannabis that contain similar terpenes can smell wildly varied depending on the presence or absence of other nonterpenoid volatile compounds. The researchers also note that “cannabis labelling or certificates of analysis (COAs) that contain only terpene information thus may mislead consumers or producers into believing that these compounds are the sole source of a given product aroma.”

The researchers cite another recent study “that found that cannabis grown across the United States falls into three major classes [based on terpene constituents]: terpinolene/ß-myrcene, D-(+)-limonene/ß-caryophyllene, or ß-myrcene/pinene dominant varieties.” They proceed to note that, problematically, “this study showed varieties with very different aroma characteristics are often found in the same cluster, which is contrary to the paradigm that these dominant terpenes dictate their aromatic character.”
They go on to provide some examples of this. “For instance, Dogwalker OG, which possesses a skunky and woody aroma, was found in the same D-(+)-limonene/ß-caryophyllene cluster as Tropicana Cookies, which possesses an intense citrus and tropical aroma. Purple Punch, which possesses a sweet, grape-like scent, was also found in this cluster. This discrepancy suggests that while these classifications may be helpful for chemotaxonomic purposes, they lack the chemical information necessary to differentiate these varieties from an aroma perspective,” concluding simply that “the importance of terpenes appears to be overstated.”
For the purposes of this study, the research team analyzed “the volatile chemical profiles of 31 cannabis ice hash rosin extracts with a wide aromatic diversity using 2-dimensional gas chromatography coupled with time-of-flight mass spectrometry and flame ionization detection.” The results indicated “a myriad of nonterpenoid compounds that strongly influence the unique aromatic properties of cannabis.”
Interestingly, their findings show that while the majority of these nonterpenoid compounds occur in much smaller quantities than dominant terpenes, they punch way above their weight in terms of their effect on the plant’s aroma.
graphic via ACS Omega
In particular, they identified “a new class of tropical volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs) that are major contributors to certain varieties with a strong citrus or tropical fruit aroma, while skatole (3-methylindole), a highly pungent compound, was identified as a key aroma compound in savory/chemical varieties.”
Ice hash rosin was used in this study because it has less plant tissue by weight than cannabis flower and further concentrates the molecules in question.
The rosin was then given to a sensory panel for analysis, with participants asked to group the samples into three categories: exotic fruity, prototypical, or exotic savory. These data provided researchers “with the framework to relate the chemical composition of each variety to their aromatic properties.” These results were then compared with chemical analysis to determine which compounds correlated with which perceived aromas.
Researchers “discovered that there exists [a] unique class of VSCs that produce tropical nuances–sulfur containing compounds that produce more citrus, fruity, sulfuric aromas–that includes 3-mercaptohexanol (3MH), 3-mercaptohexyl acetate (3MHA), and 3-mercaptohexyl butyrate (3MHB). These compounds have extremely potent aromas, comparable in strength to prenylthiol and prenylthioacetate. All three are found in a multitude of tropical fruits such as passionfruit and grapefruit. 3MH and 3MHA are also found in certain grapes and hops, which can translate to their presence in both wine and beer.”
In conclusion, the authors write that their results “yield a more complete understanding of the unique aromas that cannabis produces and help establish these nonterpenoid compounds as an important part of the phytochemistry of cannabis.”
And what’s more, “the discovery that terpenes have less influence on the differentiating characteristics of the aroma of cannabis than traditionally thought may have important ramifications for the legal cannabis industry related to product labelling and marketing, laboratory testing, and quality indicators for end consumers and producers alike.”
* The study cited above was conducted by a group of researchers associated with Abstrax Tech, an American company that specializes in the manufacture and sale of aromatic compounds from cannabis and other plants.
The competition for seasonal workers for this year’s outdoor cannabis harvest has been relatively fierce. Many marijuana growers have downsized their full-time workforce in recent years in response to inflation, high-interest rates and the substantial capital required to compensate for this labor shortage.
Over the past one and a half years, there have been numerous layoffs in the industry, resulting in slimmer crews that require additional assistance during the harvest season, according to Viridian Staffing CEO Kara Bradford. An April report from Vangst showed that total cannabis job numbers have declined by 2% since 2022, marking the first decline in the industry since the legalization of marijuana in various states.
EzHire Cannabis CEO and cofounder Jacob Carlson noted that cannabis companies struggled to establish full-time cultivation teams with competitive salaries and benefits, resulting in the need for temporary workers.
The demand for seasonal employees has also surged due to increasing competition from mainstream industries grappling with similar economic challenges.
Viridian has seen a surge in requests for temporary workers during the fall’s “Croptober,” when most outdoor harvests occur. However, Bradford stated that companies are often deterred by the costs associated with hiring a recruitment firm, as they mistakenly assume that temporary workers are cheaper than full-time employees.
In reality, factors such as inflation and rising wages have made temporary workers costly. Currently, the average hourly pay for a marijuana trimmer is $16, which can go up to $40 depending on experience. In addition to this, recruitment companies have to cover expenses such as workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance and workplace safety training, which many operators overlook, making the hiring cost high.
The work involved in cannabis harvesting is more demanding than regular retail jobs, leading to higher turnover rates. Additionally, in some states, growers face obstacles such as background checks and criminal record checks when hiring temporary marijuana workers.
Larger companies, especially multistate operators, have a financial advantage and can afford to pay higher wages to attract seasonal workers. Smaller operators, on the other hand, may find it challenging to compete, given the cost constraints.
In the past, full-time, noncultivation employees were used for outdoor harvests; today, more companies are seeking temporary workers with experience. Trimmers, in particular, require knowledge and experience because the job can be isolating, with long hours spent alone. For small companies, this means higher costs, which can be hard for some to meet.
Karson Humiston, CEO of Vangst, views the increased demand for seasonal workers as a sign of a maturing market. She stated that companies have become more adept at predicting the labor needs, particularly during the fall harvest season, which necessitates additional workers. “The early demand for autumn harvest workers as early as April is a positive sign, indicating that businesses are adopting more sophisticated HR strategies to better forecast their labor needs,” she said.
The labor changes being seen regarding harvesters shows how the marijuana industry and its players like Tilray Brands Inc. (NASDAQ: TLRY) (TSX: TLRY) will adjust their systems in order to stay afloat even when the market experiences headwinds like the current high inflation.
